BF Goodrich all terrain are the only ones I buy now. The wear on them are A+. Had a local shop talk me into a set of BFG AT tires for my truck. They lasted a little over 63,000 miles, but that is because the compound was really hard. You could cut the steering wheel hard at a turn on wet pavement (like into your driveway from the road) and get it to slide the front tires instead of turning. When it came time to replace, I bought a set of Wranglers that were still on the original Jeep rims for $150. They were "new takeoffs" that did not fit the guys Jeep Liberty. I had them taken off the Jeep rims and mounted on mine and was still money WAY ahead!

I had them taken off the Jeep rims and mounted on mine and was still money WAY ahead! Same story as me. I had BFG's a few years ago and those things were rock hard. I had the same issues with sharp turns. I hated those tires. They rode rough but I will admit they lasted every bit of 60k for me. That's the only good thing I have to say about them. I bought a Nissan Titan about 50 years ago and it had Cooper Discoverer AT3 on it. I got a little over 50k out of them and they rode pretty nice but they had a really loud hum that was pretty annoying. I have a good friend who works at a tire shop and he recommended Firestone Destination AT because of all the positive feedback they get about them so I went with them for my most recent set. This is the best set of AT tires I've ever owned. Soft, quiet and they ride nice and I have no problems going through mud with them. I know this is contrary to what someone said in an earlier post.

You might wanna slow down when you turn. 🤣🤣 Or stick to better tires. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Lol My old BFG that I had on my Ranger aboot 18 years ago were really hard and did slide on went pavement. The newer BFG's don't slide so they must have got the compound a little better than the old ones. They have been super on wet pavement.

Oh and I didn't realize that they are load range E tires when I bought them on line. Max psi you can put in them is 80psi. I'm runnin them at 45psi.

Sounds like they may have heard and addressed the slick traction complaints then.
Running tires at max pressure isn't always good for them or your pocket. I adjust my tire pressures to give full patch contact and am using different pressure in the front vs. the back usually. That gives you the best traction as well as even tire wear between tire rotations. Tires (an your money) will go farther with proper inflation and rotation.

Yep was in same work as Deadeer and been to many tire classes. Max pressure is really only needed when max load is being hauled. So I won't ever be cranking them up to 80 but the extra strength will be great in Rocky areas out west to help prevent flats.

I had a set of Toyos once. Great tires but if I remember correctly they were a little pricey.

Hey bullseye69! Whatcha talkin' bout?!?! That evening was a great ole party Actually, I think those Goodyear Wranglers work great! I just turned 103,000 on the original set! But, that freakin' company truck!!! Now that's another story! My suggestion is to never buy a longbed, crew cab F150 with only rear wheel drive! Definitely NO WAY if you live in or traverse LaPorte county! Wanna stop by? Driveway is ready for ya Larry! Round #2!
