Big Oaks 11/06. That's the date I wanted if I was going. Hope to get an easy access place as my Dad of 81 years of age will be going. I have been there two times and have never seen a deer. Maybe my luck will change. Go ahead and call Big Oaks now, I bet they'll be able to accommodate you and your dad. I hunted there a few times with a partially disabled guy, they had spots set up special for him when we arrived.

He hunts by himself mostly although last year I made a trip over to drag his deer out.

Donāt take up up north, keep him either in the center or south. Itās much flatter down south. Unless you do #5. That one up north is pretty flat and I can drive around the perimeter of it if needed.

This^ā¦ most spots there are tree stands only If you expect to see any deer before they see you! BTW ā¦. If someone going expecting to see herds of deer pass by while hunting your in for a big surprise! I not sure if they are doing stand by this year or notā¦ yet to be determined from what I seen.

Anyone have an idea when they will have results for the private land access drawing? I am "not selected" on everything else, this one is "pending".

Yeah i got "not selected," for that private land access thing as well, so if yours still says "pending," that's a good thing....i did get Dunes early hunt, which usually turns out well for me.

Anyone get drawn for Ft Harrison? I got drawn for Big Oaks but probably won't go. Didn't realize they require a hunting partner.

Maybe grab somebody down there waiting in line too. Doubt you will have any problems finding a partner. It it weren't 4.5hrs one way, I'd go back.

Got lucky this year and got drawn for three hunts at three places Iāve never been haha. Got big oaks firearm, early season Versailles state park and late season Cave River Valley.
Iām especially curious about the state parks so if anyone has hunted them, any advice is appreciated.

Other hunters and, more importantly, other hunter's impatience are your friend.
