I didn't read the article but saw the list at the bottom. Did Illinois relax gun laws? Or was it that law abiding people felt the need to jump through the hoops to finally purchase one? Chicago probably had a few large BLM demonstrations and may have worried suburbanites into buying???

Next year or two I need to go west and cross Indiana to find some great deals on almost new guns. I'll pick up a few guys up on the way. Might need to rent a bus!

Pretty surprising and staggering numbers! Illinois is a very nice place once you get outside Cook county/Chicago.
Would be interesting to see what happens if any crime, looting, or rioting happens out in more rural areas with that many more guns in hand.
I still dont see any gun confiscation plans in our future! Especially at this rate. I do think suppressing ammo supplies will be their next angle of attack. Reloading supplies are getting thin as well. Hope not a sign of things to come.

Does it break down handguns to long guns anywhere? I worked in southern Illinois for 20 years in sales. Great people and seen some huge deer taken and afield there. Most everyone I know from there hunts,,that includes the wife and kids. Never been upstate and don’t want to go. Drive around Shawnee forest and you will see what I mean. I talked to store owners a lot( grocery, gas stations) and they sold hunting licenses. A lot of upstate hunters come down every fall with empty trailers and leave with 5-10 deer. If I remember correctly a hunter can buy a license for each deer killed, no limit I knew of, it might have changed and I might be wrong but that was 20 years ago.

They were about 4x our numbers. With that many sales I would think they would be more gun friendly. If they would vote more for 2A political friendly reps they could take over their legislature.

I believe you are correct, you can get a bow buck a gun buck and can buy a tag for each doe following that. Not a bad set up in my opinion.

I don’t remember how many bucks they could take but I do remember seeing utility trailers full of deer on the roads. In January a few years back I recall I was on highway 1 and looked into a field off a bridge and saw hundreds of deer herded up. Once I had a buck standing on a lonely road in front of me and I had to stop, he was the biggest deer I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. I bet he had 2 ft tines and at least 8-10 on each side. This was before cell phones or I would have had a picture. I was in a company van and thought about hitting him. Something else you hardly ever see there is a dead one on the road hit by a car.

2 bucks for Illinois and possible 3rd per some rule. Like earn a buck program. I listen to Don Higgins every week and he lives in Illinois and have mentioned 2 bucks plus 1 buck.

Pretty certain IL is a two buck state only... Terry and Don talked about how liberal Illinois buck regulation are. Yes, 2 bucks, but in certain area there is something like Indiana earn a buck. I think they said two does 1st earns a 3rd buck in the special areas. Special case for the 3rd.

I don`t doubt it`s nice in some areas, but their gun restrictions are draconian. I have no desire to be anywhere there.

Every Don Higgins broadcast on Sundays he mentions a farm in Illinois that up for sale. Pros and cons on the property.

My deer hunting buddy grandson lives in Chicago. He has a carry permit (had to go to firearm training for a weekend and took almost two months to get approved)and carries a Sig P365.
His employer started a branch office in Chicago and put him in charge of it. He moved from Brooklyn NY to Chicago. He said there was no way that he could get a permit in Brooklyn.
As gun backwards as Chicago is there are worse places.

What astounds me is the November numbers across the board. Inventory is so low how can anyone find anything to buy that's not garbage?

They are out there but not cheap and don't spend all your money on the gun because the ammo is over priced also if available. Not sure what you consider "garbage"....

I would consider garbage: junk used guns, Hi Points, etc. Undesirable firearms.
