I downed a doe and bad shot on another. Only heard 4 other shots. Seen 9 deer total. Got one loaded up and debating how long to wait on the other doe. Just found blood 100 yards away from the shot but we have to be out by 4. I just don’t want to push her

Home and dried out. Clothes are in the washer, back pack is emptied and in the dryer, and my gun is clean, dried, and oiled. No deer, a flock of turkeys, and a few squirrels were seen. Only heard a handful of shots and after talking to some other hunters it seemed to be the norm today. Did a little driving around to come up with a plan for tomorrow and believe I have one. Looks like its going to be super cold.

If a lethal hit you may recover her just a fue yards from last blood.

2 of the last 4 guys to walk in cut me off and already shot Bummer... That’s why I don’t like Park “hunts”.. Makes two of us use to do them every year thankful for the extra meat On the last one I was up a tree already guy comes in gave him the light he sits up 30 feet away I yelled at him he ignored me daylight comes and he proceeded to tell me this Is his spot he had it marked. Honestly I thought the guy was nuts so me and the summit take a walk about few hundred yards up I go again dude comes over in about hour or two and goes at me again telling me I’m in his spot about this time my finger is on the trigger I’m thinking I’m getting shot today Said a few choice words and said have at it so down I go again I walk about as far away as I could from him about 3 PM I’m not seeing any deer I decided to make a move closer to the truck in a new area will guess who’s walking down the trail at me he starts going on again about how I killed his deer in his area I just keep walking to the truck and stoped at the check station on my way out and turned him in Apparently he had cussed out a few other guys they were looking for him That did it for me had few other issues here and there I also ran into some real good guys but I gave them up after that

Sorry to hear you having to go thru this. Luckily we have been lucky then, as we never had that kind of confrontation. Always been positive. Go figure!

The problem children are the neighbors to the area that we hunt. Game warden was called and he said that he knows about them and that he will have a Come to Jesus meeting with them before next hunting season. We've had natural ground blinds that we've built kicked apart, a tree stand illegally put up at the same tree that a buddy has hunted from for the past 20+ years after he taped the area off, and this year there was a direct confrontation with them telling us that we'd better find a different place to hunt and that "Next year things will be different".

I walked away from a 150+ inch 11 pointer in Brown County because of that. My shot was clearly on the deer, just a bit off. I told the guys congratulations and left. Then chuckled the entire way up what felt like a half mile of hill to the road.

A buddy of mine tells a story about how he was up in a climber on what he calls "government ground", before light and he saw another hunter approaching. He used his flashlight to "shine him off", and he said this rude fellow sat on the ground directly under his tree and started a bonfire. It`s really sad how ridiculous some can be.

They could be run much better if they cared. Wouldn't be hard to assign areas or even mark exact spots for hunters. I believe there are some draw areas that have exact locations marked for drawn hunters. Would make for a much more enjoyable hunt and more productive for all involved.

I am pretty sure the state see the hunts as “production”or they wouldn’t be in the 27th year of the event. I would say they are hitting the benchmark or coming very close. Could they be better... sure but that goes for about any public hunting event.

In a perfect world, and it is not. They tried a few times at fort ben, nobody stays in their area and no enforcement.

You have to get the property manager on board first. I went to the early at McCormicks Creek and the manager didn't let anyone in until 645am. Talk about ridiculous and dangerous. I know many of us called the main DNR and CO office to complain.

I believe there are some draw areas that have exact locations marked for drawn hunters. Would make for a much more enjoyable hunt and more productive for all involved. I respectfully dis agree. I do not want some one(manybe a non hunting person) telling me where I have to hunt or what aera. When I park hunted I scouted the park'looked at maps and tryed to decide where I wanted to be because of sign, terrain and where I thought other hunters would be or not be or how they or the terrain could push deer to me. We, my hunting partner and I did what I would call good. We hunted with muzzeloaders so meny times a second deer moved off befor we could reload but we averaged 2.5 deer per hunt over 10 hunts and some were second week hunts. This was at chain o lakes. If I was forced to hunt a given spot and knew from scouting the odds were against me even seeing a deer there I would not give up 2 vacation days to sit there knowing my chances were slim. I hunted the park as it was designed, as a REDUCTION, not a chance to kill a second or big buck. I am not going to voluntarily sit in an area I feel I can not kill deer on a park hunt. These are my opinions on extra regulations for park hunts Onebentarrow

I have been shot at by crazy people...twice! Once when I was only 16! The day I lose private land to hunt is the day that I stop hunting in this state. What is wrong with people?

So far it hasn’t been too bad here at mccormicks creek and they do not assign areas. Had worse encounters on open public land but I know every day is a different experience

I USE to to hunt public for turkey in Alabama every year. I would get up at 1:00 a.m. go to my spot and park and sleep in truck for a while. Had guy pull up right behind me ask me where I was going? I told him where ever I hear a turkey at and he just started walking off into the woods. After that I joined a hunting club for turkey in Bama. 2,500 acres and most days I have it to myself as only couple other members turkey hunt.
