They released her to home quarantine. They did not give her the covid test. They said they are only testing and keeping the most severe patients. They told her they are sure she has it but not bad enough to test or keep in the hospital. That tells me the numbers of people who have it are much higher than what is being reported on the news or any map. I have to self quarantine for 14 days now. So far I'm feeling fine. I think my woodworking hobby and my work help me to stay healthy. I haven't had so much as a cold in many years. I guess I'll have to wait and see how I do through this.

If either of you feel severe respiratory issues, call for help immediately.

Yes, I too believe that there are a LOT more infected out there. Did they tell you if and when her or you should come back to the hospital?

Your story will be getting more and more common, be glad to hear of her recovery. I agree the numbers being reported are much lower than actual cases. I have heard of 3 others get the same treatment.

She is getting worse. She is going into isolation at the hospital today. They won't let me drive her or see her. Prayers for quick healing and great patience and understanding on the situation. I bet it's really hard staying away.

They told her if she started having trouble breathing to go to the ER. They also told her not to take any medications. Especially anything to help reduce a fever since that is your body's way of fighting off the virus.
It's obvious this is a respiratory illness. She is constantly coughing. Not super hard but very frequent. When she talks it causes her to cough. She can't take a breathe and hold it. It's like it reduces your lung capacity. I could understand how this would be bad for anyone with previous lung issues. It makes me worry about my dad even more. When his heart condition acts up he sits in a chair and kind of gasps for air. It could be really bad for him to get this. We've been staying away from them since all this started.

I've heard that before. Why is it bad to take that? So there are several articles emerging that the Ibuprofen and Covid link first mentioned by French Doctors has no evidence, however, several well known and respected emergency medicine physicians in the US are advising to avoid it. Essentially Ibuprofen can play a factor in what is called a cytokine storm. Thats basically a massive release of immune cells all at once that causes organ failure.

Just seen on a news channel last week that was a myth and rumor! Got any links to what your reporting ... just want to read both sides. Here is a link to Harvard stating what was recently reported and also going on to say that its seems adviseable to choose Tylenol over Ibuprofen. Presumably highlighting the WHO flip flopping on several things throughout this. www.health.harvard.edu/diseases-and-conditions/treatments-for-covid-19Also attached is a screenshot from the Indiana State Medical Directors treatment advise received as a consensus from Multiple other Physicians, I have also personally heard him say this. Also attached is the one page out of seattle that I posted earlier in the thread. I add this just to point out how much is really unknown. Youll see Chloroquine is on there under treatment. This off label use was already in effect in the US before the paper out of france that has come into question. If Tylenol is working I would just assume avoid Ibuprofen. So ill add the disclaimer here: I am not offering medical advise, just sinply passing on what is coming down the medical pipeline from trusted sources.

Nasty little bug, just looking at the time stamps it looks like in 2 days she went from feeling bad to E.R. Keep close watch on the both of you.
My wife works in the pharmacy and everything that they have been hearing in there is Vitamin C and zinc along with Z-packs. She said those things are like gold right now, apparently that is what they are treating them with. None the less you know how misinformation gets spread around. Use your own judgment on which way you think is going to most benefit you and your wife.
Thoughts coming your way.

Her cough seems a little better today. She said her throat is really hurting now. Not like a normal sore throat. She sid it's more in her neck.

Hmmmm.. Since most of the deaths are of us older folks it stands to reason that we would have the NSAIDs in our systems. We are the ones with the aches and pains of arthritis. Old guy kicked off and he has NASIDs in his system. I would expect nothing less.

She sid it's more in her neck. scrub, FWIW, she sounds like she is progressing "normally". My brother has it(he, my SIL, and their granddaughter were on spring break in NYC about 3 weeks ago) and he has the same persistent dry cough. He's going on 14 days and all other symptoms(fever etc) are pretty much gone. SIL symptoms lasted about 7 days and granddaughter hasn't been sick. Also SIL is hospital administrator/nurse and they could have been tested but opted out. Also, just a thought, if her throat gets really sore she could be getting strep-throat on top of the virus which is easily addressed with antibiotic--it is going around too it seems like, couple of my friends have had that this winter.
