I just ordered an H2 saddle and a triad bridge. I will be using the one stick method this year and the will be rappelling back down the tree when I remove my one stick. Very light and efficient for long treks on public and very mobile and safe. What setup do you use for rappelling?

I thought the same thing when I started out. I carried 3 full length Hawk heliums with 1 step aiders. It was okay and worked fine. But then I tried the one stick method and found it to actually be quicker and lighter. I do not think it is more work at all. You just move your tether line up and swing to the side, hang and pull the stick up, re-connect the stick and so on. Like anything else you will find little tricks that work and what don't work. You can go as high as you want with one stick but are limited with 3 sticks. The rappelling part is so easy as well.

I use a 30' climbing rated rope with a quick link screw lock on the girth hitch around the tree. Then I have a figure 8 descender hooked to my linemans loop and belt with a prussik stop block below that. Here is a video of the figure 8. This is not me though, I am better looking. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJf2_I6S0Pw&t=147s

I may try this out this season, though it looks like ill mostly be on the ground most of the season. I did switch from me external frame KUIU to an internal frame badlands dash, and everything does carry a bit better over short distances, but I could still shed some weight.
