As many of you know I’ve been in college shooting competitively thus the lack of activity on the site... just to give a little update and perspective we won the national championships this weekend by 1 clay target... out of 3000 total. Just a reminder that the little things add up and can make all the difference. Whether it’s shooting one more arrow for practice, or spending another minute with family... it can change your life.

That is awesome.... Glad to hear you and your team have done really well and also to hear that the shooting sports are still alive at that level.... I figured by now many colleges and universities would have cut funding to those programs under pressure from the public and from within.

What discipline? American Skeet, International Skeet, International Trap (bunker trap) or regular (american) trap? If American, 16 yd or handicap?

Way to go! One bird?! Wow! Had to be tremendous pressure! Congratulations! Oh it was... we were down 3 targets going into the final day with only trap left. We didn’t have a good day, shot the same score as the day before and I thought we lost. We got done and we’re waiting on scores to come in and get overtaken... their squads slowly trickled in and it showed us up one. The final squad had 3 trap shooting that could beat us... we had our post shoot meeting and the captains were talking about how close this team has become and what we’ve accomplished. A few of us were tearing up (including myself) because of the resolve and fight we showed on an weekend. Coach waited until we got done talking and said that we won... everyone just erupted and it was surreal. It still feels the same now and I’m getting chills just typing this lol.

What discipline? American Skeet, International Skeet, International Trap (bunker trap) or regular (american) trap? If American, 16 yd or handicap? At this match all we shot was Sporting, trap, and skeet. 200 of each. In the spring that nationals is all 100 bird events. Sleet, skeet doubles, trap, trap doubles, sporting clays, and super sporting (modified sporting with 4 traps per station and you shoot different pairs).

You’d be shocked... it’s continuing to grow and no teams I know of have lost significant funding. In fact a couple new schools are offering full rides now in Texas.
