Through the years I’ve sold many motorcycles on eBay, Craigslist and other cycle trading sites. Im getting ready to sell another scooter. A buddy suggested I try Christy’s on the Southside of Indy. He said he’s seen lots of cars, trucks, motorcycles and other machinery sell there. Just looking for any feedback from anyone here that has been to their auction or knows someone frequents them.

I don’t frequent that auction house but do see jack Christy and crew at another auction I attend every year. They also did the estate sale for my wife’s aunt a few years ago. As far as I’m concerned their a top notch crew, but I’ve personally never sold anything through them. I say they must be doing something right to have the size of auctions they do on a very frequent/consistent basis.

My son married one of the Christy daughters, and I`ve come to know Bob Christy pretty well. He`s a good Christian man, so I would presume that carries over into his business dealings.

I stopped in at Christy's and got the paperwork that would be submitted for the sale of a motorcycle. Very nice and helpful people. The fee to sell a vehicle is currently $100 and that will be collected whether or not the vehicle sells. If sold, the buyer pays a "buyer's premium" of 10% of the sale price plus 7% Indiana sales tax. On average, they sell 2-3 motorcycles per week. For now, I've opted to stay with the eBay route. Two issues came up discouraging me from Christy's. First, I would need to insure the motorcycle and I'm not going to do that. Second, the logistics of dropping off and picking up (if not sold) are too tricky for me with the current travel/work schedule. So, the 91 Honda CB750 Nighthawk goes on eBay!

Never heard of anyone taking a classic vehicle to them. I know they can be sketchy on antiques.
