Does anyone have a recommendation for a good deer processor and a quality taxidermist in the Switzerland County area? Preferably someone who does a good job yet won't break the bank. A processor with a drop off freezer for after hours would be a huge bonus. I don't process my own deer and don't have a setup to do so yet. Just optimistically thinking ahead for when I start hunting this year. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

There is an Amish Family on Aaron Road off of state highway 129 south of Cross Plains that processes deer. Also, there is a taxidermist off of Plum Creek road and Popcorn Ridge Road. His name is Brian but can’t remember the name of his business, he has a sign at the road. I have his phone number if anyone needs to contact him.

R and R processing is off of 129, too. Jimmy is a nice guy. I am taking my next one to Trackside Butcher just across the river in Kentucky. They are a drop station for Webb's. If you want great specialty meat Webb's is it. The bacon is unreal.

Are you allowed to take deer to be processed into Ky? I thought you weren't allowed to transport any part of a deer's spinal cord or brains across state lines due to CWD, etc.?

I tried R&R once, they weren't bad and pretty flexible in times to drop off a deer. Since I live near Cincinnati, I typically take my deer to a local place that has a 24-hour drop off meat locker. As for local taxidermy, my last 2 deer have been done by Bill @ Alpine Taxidermy on Fishing Worm Ridge Rd. His prices are reasonable and the work is quality. Here's a pic of one of my deer done by Bill.

Dropped doe off at Trackside yesterday. Very nice place. They butcher everything with fur. Very nice people. It was 45 minutes from Brooksburg. Highway 71 goes right by there.

arlowe13 That's an impressive collection! Thanks! These 3 are my latest, and banished to the garage because the basement walls are full lol I'd like to get all the deer on one wall, eventually, maybe next house!

Thanks again for the updates all!! No need for a taxidermist yet unfortunately, but it's about time to lay the smackdown on some does in the next week or so
