If I was hunting I'll feel like the wicked witch of the North - I'm melting. Just hit 90.

I’ll get started Thursday evening as the front comes through.

I'm in my ground blind above the pond. Its 94 degrees and I'm wearing basketball shorts, slippers and the thinnest camo shirt I could find. I bumped a few on my way to the blind. I didn't see antlers. I hope it settles down so the bucks can come out before dark.

I just got setup. I refused to sit any longer than two hours in this lol. Trail cam shows deer heading to corn field right about dark. Odds are low, but it is just so awesome to be back in the stand and off of work!

There's been a young doe playing in the edge of the pond for a while. A big doe winded me at 10 yards. I'm hearing movement in the woods. I hope it's something with antlers.

I think the best part about saddle hunting, is every day that I hunt, I get to say "back in the saddle again"
Same spot, different day, after further review of the trail camera, yesterdays camera buck is one a buddy named "Rambo" last year as a 3 year old. That leaves "splits" 5 year old 11 or 12 with a split brow, and a spindley two year old 8 that I probably wont shoot.

Ugh. Pretty sure my target buck walked through 2 minutes after legal. I could see a huge body, just couldnt see antlers.
That and 2 does so far. No shot on those.

Live from my back deck drinking coffee, eating a bagel and watching a little woods behind us..
We watched three hen turkeys come through earlier then 15 minutes later a doe and two fawns came through.
Where I’m at it IS a deer Reduction zone.. 😉

I went out this morning too despite the hot humid weather. I have a spot where I usually get my spring turkey every year so I went in more looking for a bird. But obviously wouldn’t have minded if a nice buck walked out. It was a good chance to try out the new saddle. Only squirrels for me today but felt good getting in a tree.

I know the rest of you are sitting there patiently awaiting this cold front! I know I am!

It's not cooling off as quick as I'd hoped, I'm a sweaty mess.
I just had a coyote come through as I was setting up, about 20 yards in front of me. Just need a buck to do that!

It's starting to feel a bit cooler, and my EWW wind has picked up and shifted mostly from the north now.

I'm getting packed up to FINALLY go out for my first hunt of the season tomorrow. I'm hoping for this cold front to have them moving through my area at just the right time.

Forgot to post last night. Jumped one deer on the way out. Haven’t been hunting mornings as I have no deer activity on my camera after 6 AM. Setup again tonight at 6, I don’t want to melt and it seems like the only movement is during the last 20 mins of shooting light here. Hunting a little staging area that leads out to a cornfield.

I've got about a thousand starlings above me now. It's like a scene from that old "Birds" movie. They're dropping bombs all around me.
