Walking into woods this afternoon I noticed several fresh scrapes, is this rut activity this late? Some scrapes will stay open year round.

Well my circle became complete 20 minutes ago when this doe come sneaking up beside me. 10 yrds shot and she dropped in her tracks. I'm gonna wait to see if another shows up and I can double down 2 years in a row. Well her she is. Small but delicious none the less. Congratulations on a job well done! You have definitely proven your "intestinal fortitude" for hunting this late this hard! WAY TO GO!

Didn’t go two hours without seeing deer today. Even with my rifle, I just didn’t have any shots I was confident in. My cousins husband however dropped two Nannies with his shotgun! He hadn’t ever field dressed a deer before, so I cut them both for him while talking him through it.
He’s excited as hell, and his kids were super stoked when we showed up in the Tahoe ! Overall a successful day in my book!
I did get some blood in my eye I think, because it is hurtin. I’m about to jump in the shower and rinse it out reallll good.
We’ve got a few weeks left in reduction season, and I intend on harvesting at least one more deer this season. Can’t wait to get back out again!

I almost wish I hunted reduction zones, but I'm not sure I could do it. I'm mentally exhausted over this season, but I've had a hellava lot of fun getting that way 😆.

Good luck to y'all hunting the reduction zones. As for the rest of y'all that are forced to call it the End, I hope y'all got the chance to make lifetime memories and cherished time in the woods wether with family or friends.

I get that for sure 😂 Yesterday was a 13-14 hour day .... and those are getting old lol but it turned out to be worth it. I’ve shared quite a bit of meat from my two deer I’ve taken, or else I probably wouldn’t still be grocery shopping out there very much lol one more would put the freezer where I’d feel comfortable to quit lol

You have to use reduction tags outside of normal seasons. And there is no public land labeled reduction(in the SW) so you'll want to secure private land before buying tags.

I was pretty sure there was some highway corridor that cut through public land. Not much though.

I know it is not in the county he is referribg to.

I don't know that much, Ive never hunted reduction with reduction specific tags. I do know you MUST kill a doe before you kill a buck.

I hunted in Brown County twice last year in September and got hassled both times by guys that didn't know the regs. Each time guys parked and came in looking for me, one even called DNR. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and didn't hunt it this year.
I didn't check this year, but I thought that zone was still considered reduction this year.

I edited to reflect SW portion of the state. I believe the he is in Perry County so he would be referring to Warrick or Vanderburgh, in which case the local public areas are not in the reduction zone.

Thanks defleck. I was gonna be done last week, but I just couldn't give up. That doe wasn't the doe I was targeting, but I'm going to put up more cameras but I'm switching to cell cameras so I can cut down traffic and putting down scent going to check them.
As for my interest in the reduction zone, I live in Spencer County and I don't mind driving to chase whitetail. I got on the OnX Hunt app and there's not a lot of options without obtaining permission for private ground. I don't mind knocking on doors, but anymore it's hard to find folks that let you hunt.

I hear ya man. There are hundreds of acres of untouched Alcoa ground out here on the eastern edge of the Warrick reduction zone.
