Don't own one, but read lots of comments and reviews when I was researching my first AR purchase. Seemed to be a mix of good, bad, and really ugly. Most of what I read was that they will function, but are kind of a bottom of the barrel maker (not overly accurate).
Take that with a grain of salt since all my info had come from the net.

Thanks. I have read the same. Local gun shop has one for a decent price so I figured it'd be worth looking into a little more.

I've seen them for just over $400 on sale before (maybe Rural King?) and was very tempted to buy one or two just to stick back in the closet.

The one I was looking at is $449. I looked at the DPMS LCAR too. Good introductory AR15 I suppose.

I’ve saw them under $400 a few times, but just never bought one because of what I had been told and read about them. Just a side note, the Rugers are put on sale at times for some decent prices and my parents bought one and it’s pretty nice.

DPMS is a very reputable company that build serviceable rifles. The Oracle is considered an "entry level" AR15, meaning lower end. These are relatively inexpensive, but are NOT cheap rifles.
I do not have any DPMS AR15's, but I do have a very, VERY nice DPMS LRSASS .308 AR10. This is NOT an entry level rifle, and the price reflects that, but so does the performance.
If you would like to dip your toes into the AR platform and don't want to spend a lot of money, you can do much worse than a DPMS.
I think you'd be more than happy with a DPMS, although I might consider changing out the trigger. Rock River Arms sells a nice 2-stage national match trigger for less than $200.

I went the DPMS LCAR. Outstanding price. It'll get me using an AR-15 in combative/tactical shooting. If I like it, which I don't know why I wouldn't, then I'm sure I'll be able to either a) build up this one or b) look for another model with features I'm happier with.
I use a SOCOM as a duty rifle now and love it. That gun is definitely a fight stopper but, it's also a lot heavier than the AR-15's. So I'm sure it'll be an adjustment. Hopefully in a positive way.

I have a DPMS in 204 Ruger that I bought 12 years ago and use it to shoot prairie dogs out in South Dakota. Very accurate and functions no problem. Also have a LR-308 with a 24" and 18" uppers. No problems out of either of them.
