I know this has been mentioned in another thread but it needs to be a stand alone so people can see it and not buried in another thread. Read here... www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/8541.htm

As I said in the other thread...
I live in the southern part of the state (where the bonus antlerless season was still going to happen) and we haven't had a drop of rain since August 26th and none is forecast for the next week to ten days with temps in the 90's every day.
In other words, I don't see EHD easing up around here anytime soon, so if the DNR thinks this is the thing to do, I have no issue with it.

So what exactly does the green sections mean? They only allow bonus deer during the special antlerless season?

So what exactly does the green sections mean? They only allow bonus deer during the special antlerless season? Per the map legend....NO..... the green area is only area with late antlerless season!

Glad to see our DNR reacting to this.....last time we had significant outbreaks the DNR just sat back and watched. Joe is really changing my stance on my position of our DNR. I need to send Joe an e-mail.....

Proactive vs reactive. I think it’s great.

I'm sure you know this but others may not. You could still kill more than 2 does as you could kill 2 on bonus license, 2 on archery licenses, and one on a muzzleloader license. This is where it gets too confusing.

Knee jerk reaction. Try to find EHD mortality rates and why it seems repeatable (1998, 2007, 2012 and now 2019). I'm sure the mite has a cycle (5-9 year) and you can bet the next one will be 2024-2029. They need to look at the mite cycle. What species cycle effects the mite cycle etc. I don't think a 60-90% die off is natural.

And the reason I have been pushing for the map to be an overall doe harvest map and not a bonus map. Kentucky regulations have a map with doe numbers set on it that are overall harvest. Doesn't matter what season or tool of choice.
