Does anybody have any first hand experience with the new 350 legend? Honestly I'll take second hand information at this point. I've read tons of "expert" opinions. I've seen several "pro hunter" reviews of it since they got to test it out during the 2017 season before it's launch. I've seen some YouTube reviews. I'm kinda looking for closer to home type guys thoughts on it.
I seem to have developed a problem. I have a side of my gun cabinet that has become the Rugar American side and it has one last empty spot. My original thought was to fill it with the quintessential deer caliber and put a 270 in there. I have a 243 and a 308, so the 270 would fit right in the middle. Then I came across the Rugar American chambered in 350 Legend.....
With a 243 and a 308 do I REALLY need a middle of the road option in a 270?
Would I be better served to obtain an additional public ground legal rifle?
What happens if the legislature does nothing and the current riffle rule sunsets?
What to do? What to do? What to do?
I realize the best solution is to just buy a dedicated Rugar American cabinet and fill it with all the offerings, but that is a different problem for a different day.

I purchased a Savage Axis II chambered in .350 legend a couple of weeks ago. I've only had it out to the range once and sighted it in @ 25 yards with Winchester 180 grain ammo. That resulted in dime sized groups (as it should at that range).
Recoil isn't bad (less than a .243, about the same as a CVA Scout in .44 mag). All in all, it's pretty pleasant to shoot.
I'll work on 100 yards next time I make it out there (which should be tomorrow). If all goes well, I'll use it for deer hunting this season.
If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer them.
As far as the Ruger American Ranch rifle goes...I didn't care for it. The finish on the barrel seems cheap and the AR style magazine hangs out like a goiter. The Ruger American predator I haven't seen.
I really wanted to take a look @ Winchester's offering but couldn't find one in any of the shops near me. Mossberg is chambering the Patriot in .350 legend too, but I've yet to see one of those either.

I didn't care for the ranch either. The Predator model is my choice, but the magazine extends on both. It's the same as the others I have (will need to label magazines) and it has a 4 inch longer barrel. I can't say it helps with longer range accuracy but I can't see it hurting it.
I really don't "need" another gun, but the looks I get on the park hunts should be interesting this year.
Thanks for the feedback. Anything you can add as you shoot it will be appreciated.

I converted my AR. I'm pretty happy with accuracy and recoil. Hopefully I will get to use it on a deer this fall.

Made it back out to the range this morning to see what the Savage Axis II would do @ 100 yards.
Double checked zero @ 25 and moved to 100. First 3 shot group was about 2". I cleaned the barrel, let it cool and the second group was right @ 1.5". Cleaned the barrel, let it cool and the third group was right @ 1.5" again.
At some point, I'll likely try other weights and brands to see what groups best, but for this season I'll shoot what I've got.
Hopefully I'll see how it performs on a deer this season...

Thanks for the information. I'm getting it. I didn't go crazy for the idea last year when they first came out, but the more I read and hear the better it sounds.
No, I don't need it. I have enough options to hunt with a different gun every trip afield. I want it. I like the results of the 180 grain bullet out of my 357 and I see this as being even better along with adding some range.

There are several Facebook pages that guys are really putting them through the paces. Seem to be getting good groups out to 250. Most are handloading for them but seem to have the best luck with the American whitetail in factory.

I stopped by the local Rural King this morning and they had a Ruger American Ranch rifle in .350 legend for $419.00.
That's the best price I've seen on them in a store.

I ordered through the website since there were none close to me. I did go with the Predator because of the 22" barrel. The Ranch has a 16.

That's an axis II, so that's a very good price on the rifle (especially with a $30 rebate). I've never ordered online from this company, so I'm not sure how much it would cost you to transfer it to your local dealer and how much the fees from your local dealer would be, but on the surface that's a good deal.

No tax plus free shipping. My FFL charges $15 so it's cheaper than the sales tax would be.

What's needed to convert a 556 AR to .350?

What's needed to convert a 556 AR to .350? Simplest to buy a complete upper. I have 3 BCA's (Bear Creek Arsenal) now. Their reputation was iffy a few years ago. Some still balk at them. But my 3, and 4 others that I personally know of, are all tack drivers. Mine were $179-$229 complete, with approx 3 day shipping. Check them out!

What's needed to convert a 556 AR to .350? New barrel, I converted mine. I also added a new freefloat barrel nut and handrail. Those aren't neccessary though.

Just a barrel, and a mag right?
The 556 BCG is good to go for a .350?

I just bought myself a 350 this past weekend. Looking forward to shooting it and getting it ready for next deer season.

I've been looking at the Ruger predator .350 legend.
