20 years ago I was on the south side of Indianapolis, I was wanting to go to a steak house and drove past Texas Roadhouse. The place was packed so I drove to a small strip mall adjacent to this Texas Roadhouse and found a hole in the wall place with Indy 500 memorabilia on the walls and a great steak! It was a bit pricey but not too far out of the realm of affordable. Does anyone know the place I'm talking about and are they still open? I've looked at maps of Southport and other areas but can not find the place. A friend of mine is going to Indy for the drag racing over labor day weekend and I'd like him to try this place. He doesn't want to go to St. Elmo's but would like a nice place to take his girlfriend. Thanks!

Might you be thinking of the Mucky Duck Pub!?!? I’ve had some pretty good lunches there in past years! Honestly though, I never hear anybody rave about them here on the Southside. I’d search some reviews first. I’ll check with some friends and get their latest thoughts.

I think the name was Bobby Joe's or something like that. Was a nice steak house, great food and the atmosphere (500 stuff) was awesome. I believe he was some kind of journalist. Now it is Mucky Duck, if it is still there. Mostly bar food. Showing my age!

Bynum's is still on the Southside with the big cow out front. Other side of town.
