Yesterday on my way back from the Barber I passed a yard sale, well with a rack of fishing poles standing at attention I had to uturn and stop knowing that there might be other sporting equipment available. Sure enough as I walk up I see 2 Bear fiberglass bows, even tho there just practice bows that were used in schools back in the day. I snagged them up without looking for a price. Then noticed some old tools on a table and snagged a few pieces. Total price for all was 10$

Nice finds! Those bows are great to give to kids who want something to shoot. They are nearly indestructible. Do the bows have strings? If not, I can make some for you. Just figure out the length that you need and let me know.

That oil can spout is a real blast from the past. Yes. I can remember dad using one with the cylinder shaped cardboard quarts of Havoline.

If you did not pierce the can right they usually leaked oil all over the engine. It is one thing about the "good old days" I do not miss.

Just figure out the length that you need and let me know. Het Scrub maybe you can help me out. I got a hold of an old Ben Pearson Lord Sovereign recurve bow, there are no markings on it nowhere stating pounds or amo string length. The bow is a longer recurve at 67" long. Would you happen to know what length of string it would take? I can't find much info on this bow other than it was one of Pearson's better-built bows probably from the 60's. If you can or would be able to make a string for it I will be happy to pay you for it. I can pay you any way you want. Paypal or send you a postal money order or even cash just let me know if you can and the cost. I thought about making a post on one of the traditional bow forums asking for the string length but haven't yet.

The tan bow says 56 in, Im sure you will know the calculation for what it needs, if there is any other measurement needed let me know. It would be great to have a string made from a true Boyer !

I'm going to ask around and see what length I need to make it for that bow. Any specific colors you want in the string?
