I have seen a lot of rabbits this year. I know they go in cycles, but this year most ever. Has anyone else seem similar.

I see more this year because I think the wet conditions have kept farmers out of the fields (crop and hay) and as such there is more cover and thus more of them. I have some empty fields in my area and areas that are typically mowed that have not been yet. I was always told that lots of rabbits means a healthy habitat. What kills me about that statement is how many rabbits there are in town....in particular at night! I can't remember the last time I actually hunted them. By the time I am done with deer season in mid-december...I'm typically done for a while with dealing with the cold....unless I get an opportunity to waterfowl.

There are a lot around my house this year. There are several fields around us that haven't been mowed in 4-5 years though, which is what I attributed it to.

I never see rabbits around my house, but I have three dogs, so... A couple of years ago, one of my "kids", still don't know which, started leaving dead baby opossums laying just outside the back door. One a day, or every other day, for almost two weeks. I think I ended up throwing out dead 7-8 baby opossum in about twice as many days.
I haven't seen another opossum around for the past few years either?

I’m about the same got plenty around here I’ll take 2 or 3 but like you said I’m about done hunting and ice is coming on so that takes enough time

I have seen about the usual number this year. I always see quite a few this time of year but by winter they seem to disappear. The usual around the house. There are not many free roaming dogs around here. Cats are out there though and probably do more to keep the game down then the yotes and foxes.

I am LOADED with them this year. I can limit out (as of right now) and not leave the yard. Hopefully most make it to season.
