Will sheet metal (barn walls/roof) be paintable after the paint has been burnt off?
Asking for a friend.
No seriously, old wooden shed has the floor left, the shop corner got pretty hot, nothing important lost, but a decent sized cleanup job ahead.

I have painted it before. Make sure it's clean and dry and buy good paint.

Thank you gentlemen. I'm waiting to hear from the insurance adjuster and see what their plans are.

The insurance guy said he'd take care of price and contractor to fix the barn and replace the shed, but haven't gotten the numbers yet. I had to list everything lost, current replacement cost, store located, and age. I have found that I have acquired more crap than I ever realized. I'm a touch over 10K with just contents. I can't even imagine how bad it would have been if I lost the entire barn.

I can't see why it wouldn't. The heat might change the metal's hardness, but it should still take paint ok. As noted above, make sure it's clean and primed. Let us know how it goes.
