Well as the saying goes, "Knee high by the 4th of July". We will see if that holds true, and I couldn't agree more about a difficult year for hunting.

The corn around Cincinnati is well above knee and the farm in Ross, Ohio just posted the corn will be early this year. We have not received the rain like you guys have. In fact I cut grass twice where it was dusty.

In a "normal" June we are supposed to receive 4 inches of rain for the month. We've already had 5 inches @ this poiint in the month with another 3-4 inches forecast over the next week or so.
Throw that on top of the 10" above normal we were @ going into June and it's just gotten ridiculous.

How many bales could I get off an acre? Thinking of ways to just cut my mowing losses.

We are starting to catch up. About 1.5"Saturday, 5-6" Saturday night, and Sunday/Sunday night and inch. So around 8" over the weekend. One dry day forecast for the next 10.

We received 4.3 inches over the weekend, with another 4" forecast for this week.
So far for the month of June for me, 9.3 inches.
With what we've received from Jan 1 through now, we are sitting @ 40.05 inches. A "normal" year of rainfall for my area is 45.54 inches.
If the forecast holds, we'll have a years worth of rain by the end of June.
Ridiculous...

I have lost all hope to get a summer early fall plot in ! My clover is getting hit really hard as there isn’t much planted around my area . I will just have to ride it out & come up with an early fall late winter plan . I’m all healed up from my rotator cuff surgery & plan on hunting harder than ever before this year ! ☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️

Warmer air holds more moisture. And we got more rain last night in the Evansville, IN area. It's been raining almost every week and the water levels are rising in the Ohio River Valley.

Everyone make it thru the weekend OK? The news reported "straight line" winds in my area saturday....which was BS....my wife was driving down the road and saw the funnel cloud only a mile away!!!! It was still a funnel cloud and not officially a tornado as it had not touched down at that point, but she said it was very close to touching down at that point. We are fine but a few miles down the road had some wind related damage. Totally leveled a barn, near the large dairy farm on 700S in Decatur county. Now we seem to be into monsoon week. This is just crazy.... folks either can't get in the fields or what is out there is feared to drown or rot.

It's all Canada fault. They keep sending down cold air in the mid west/Ohio Valley. South says it's summer and hot weather is needed. We need to cut the electric to the big ass fans on Canada's border. It's very late to have this battle this time of year. I hope it ends soon and it goes to summer hot dog days.

My fear is that once summer does arrive - it's gonna be 100+ degrees in the shade, still as a tomb, humid enough to stick paper to the wall and drier than a popcorn fart for 3 months solid!!!

The sun energy output is the lowest ever recorded now for 3 months. We have been recording record cold on the upper atmosphere. If lucky we get 1 month of summer. Hopefully, the sun wakes up ,but odds are low. Probability and statistics aren't off very much.

I hope everyone is okay near rushville and any other storms. Camp is pretty messed up. My camper area had 5 trees come down or snap completely off plus countless others with heavy damage. Starting at my brother's camper to the fire ring shelter there's 11 down or snapped off, endless heavy damage, and his camper rolled over into the tree line with him in it. No injuries and nothing that can't be replaced or cleaned up. Just a wild Saturday night. Somehow we were lucky no one was in camp for the weekend. NWS report today says 100mph straight line winds.

Well, yesterday we received another 3" of rain. When you add it all up we are sitting @ 43.05 inches for the year. 45.54 inches is our "normal" yearly total. We'll easily surpass that figure over the next 11 days.
Last year, we ended up with 76.94" of rain and have been averaging 61.6" for the last 5 years. That equates to 6.76 years of rain over the last 5 years.
So this isn't just a problem for the area this year. It's been ongoing and is only getting worse.

When you decide to start the clean-up....let me know and I will see if I can get my boy to come along and we can give you a hand, since camp is just down the road and all. Many hands make light work.
