Any pics or videos on using this type of setup? Size 14 boots may be hard to place on that platform. I don't know how the OP is planning to use it, but here's a video of how most people use that platform with a tree saddle. youtu.be/6lHmMUXwc8wGood video to watch. It explains things pretty well.

I'm debating on making the switch to a saddle. I mainly hunt on public so I don't leave a stand overnight and hauling in my climber is cumbersome and noisy.

I looked into saddles and I think for the right person and right type of hunting they would be very cool. I hunt the same 150 year after year....so not much benefit to me. If your always on a different place or a different tree, then the versatility is great. Would be great for public ground as you don;t have to worry about your stuff being stolen or someone in YOUR stand.

How do you climb the tree? I have 3, Hawk Helium Climbing sticks, with the rope modification they weigh around 2# each.

I hunt the same propetry each year as well, but due to few access points and me not having a four wheeler or anything, I have to carry everything in. Carrying a ladder stand half a mile to setup each season gets old fast. It's definitely not for everyone or all situations as you said, but it's a nice option to at least be aware of.

I rarely use my seat in some stands unless hunting all day....so while this thought has always crossed my mind, I'm not enough of a hang and hunt style to do it.

If I know im in for an all day sit, or even more than a few hours, I'll take my hawk helium stand. At 12# for the stand, 6# for the sticks, and another 6# for just the camera arm and shoulder/base, it gets rather heavy after the first couple hills, for just a couple hours of hunting. Probably another 3-4# in the camera.

In November I try to sit all day when I can, usually around 11 hours. I bring everything but the kitchen sink, summit viper, huge thermos of coffee, food, all miscellaneous hunting gear. I bet I haul in 40 pounds of stuff in/out.

Back when we hunted various farms and only owned a couple of stands, we "crashed" using LocOn limit stands and a handful of screw in steps. I think the stands weighed 8 lbs.
If the owner didn't mind we would set up a few stand areas with just screw in steps and "hang and hunt" the stands when necessary.

Tethrd must not have great shipping. Ordered on the 20th and still no update or platform. A lot of people have been complaining on social media about how long they have been taking to get things shipped out.

Not to terrible to turn around on, though im wearing tennis shoes. I wear Danner vitals when I hunt which is pretty much an 8 inch tennis shoe. This thing is rock solid on the tree, no wiggle at all. I think Ill like it.

I would make sure AFLAC is paid in full. No way I could make it standing on that.
