After 6 years of fairly heavy use, I broke my Echo.
I was working on a storm damaged sycamore tree when it rolled oddly and started to pinch my bar. I yanked as I was moving my big butt and broke the handle.
I am getting to where I should be changing the hub sprocket so it's time to order parts. Said parts (aluminum handle instead of plastic) is about 40% the cost of a new saw.
Repair, or sell and replace? Decisions, decisions, decisions........

I've used about every saw you could think of with my years in the tree industry.
Olympic, Husqvarna, Stihl, Echo, Efco, Homelite, Jonsered. You name it I've ran it. Stihl is #1 without a doubt. I would stay away from Jonsered, Echo and Efco. Jonsered is such a cold natured saw. Echo and Efco don't have the power and are cheaply built if you ask me.
But at any rate ultimately it is your money do with it what you want. I would throw in the extra cash and go with something that you know will always be there whenever you need it to fire.

My Echo CS340? Push priming bulb half dzn times. Pull out choke. Pull starter cord 2x. saw pops on 2nd pull. Push choke in, depress trigger all the way, give it another pull on the cord, release finger from trigger. If it takes more than 3 pulls on the cord something is wrong.

I had enough rewards points built up that I replaced the sprocket and handle (aluminum upgrade) for a tick over $75. I got a new bar yesterday because that sycamore tree did more damage than I originally thought. Ready to run again $120 and 4 days later.
