Looks like some good weather Tuesday on or at least no rain wish me luck got 46sq on my roof to tear off and replace got a few helpers to clean up but for the most part it’s me and one other guy but I have air nailers roof jacks shingle forks so it will be easier
Should have it stripped and new ice sheild and tar paper down the first day and replaced any drip edge flashing that’s needed I may be able to get some shingles on will see
I’m hopeful I can get done in three days and I do believe I can

Put lots of blue tarps down around the house when stripping to catch nails and smaller pieces. Have dumpster close. I had mine re-done by a buddy with helpers. 7 guys stripped, installed a round skylight, replaced about 10 sheets of bad sheathing, ice block, paper and we were done by 2pm the same day. Started at 7 am. I had a backhoe there and they just shoveled the shingles into the bucket and I dumped into the dumpster. Carried the plywood and shingles up a ladder.....

Roofers are suppose to start on mine tomorrow. I'm going with a metal roof. Quite honestly, I've never done a roof before and didn't really feel up to the challenge.
I hope yours goes smoothly!

I looked into that but I would like to sell in maybe 5 or 7 years and I’m not sure my pick would be what someone would want or like and going over this although a lager cost it’s easier and cheaper to do

We're wanting to build in the 2-3 years so we're doing a lot of up grades. I know it's a roll of the dice when picking roof colors but, hopefully it works out. Best of luck today and stay safe up there!

46sq is a lot of shingles. I can feel your sore muscles now... About 46 more than I want I’d say it’s 44 1/2 but I over ordered last thing I need is to run out my help may just go home on me 😀

Nice looking place! I'd say not to work too hard but it sounds too late for that.

That's a large roof indeed, and a lot of "features" to work around. I can't see the protrusions (ie: vent stacks, boots...) but I can see quite enough valley's, ridges, and flashing.
I do roofs, among other things, and that is close to my limit for size. Looks like about a 4/12 pitch, so not too bad.
We did one a couple of years ago that was an old Victorian style. Not overly large, but it was a 10/12 pitch, and nothing but 1 by slats for decking, so we got to drag osb sheeting up to cover the entire roof. To top it off, the surroundings were such that we could not get roof-top delivery of the shingles. We were blessed to get to carry the osb and the shingles on our shoulders, up four tiers of scaffolding.
We made REALLY good money on that roof, but I won't do another one of those.
Good luck with yours. Looks like you're ready to hit the downhill side of this endeavor.

A good share is 6 12. And some 8 12 you can still walk it but I don’t walk much I start 6 or 7 rows run them out and start another 6 or 7 and work them up I’ve found by watching guys the trick to speed and not killing yourself is to not move much. You stack your self a bunch of bundles at a 45 so as you go you never reach you just grab and lay. You can’t see that good in photos but it’s a 3D shingle so they lay fast no rain runs to get straight so if you get off a touch or if your edge is not true it does not show makes it so much easier to lay
