So what is with the tight lips this week? I don't know if it's all the rain, but the birds seem to be acting weird right now.

I never heard a gobble opening morning and neither did Woodmaster. His bird came in completely quiet. Mine did this afternoon too but that is not unusual for afternoon birds.

Good morning all and good luck! Got 1 bird roosted right down in the swamp and already hearing some gobbling. I'm hoping today is the day before the bad weather is suppose to hit later in the morning early afternoon.

Lots of gobbling and lots of yelping. I've got some serious competition from hens to draw a gobbler in.

Birds have gone silent already. I hope they get it over fast with their current hen and come looking for love in this particular wrong place.

Turkeys are strutting in the corn field. There are a lot of new baby geese on the ponds. The gills are moving onto the nests. Smoker ready to go for a Boston butt. Going to be a great day. See a fish fry real soon.

So what is with the tight lips this week? I don't know if it's all the rain, but the birds seem to be acting weird right now. Seem to be pretty far along in the process, hens nesting, predators out. Almost over? Disinterested gobblers and bands of roving jakes to run them off.
