Saw several people hunting with youths this weekend in the afternoon on 2 pieces of DNR ground. Thought the hunt hours ended at 1:00pm on DNR Div. of Wildlife properties, unless youth is different? Just a heads up.

Youth weekend is probably different I would expect!
Honestly I never heard it discussed

Me neither. Youth could be different, just wanted to throw it out there so no one would get into any hot water.

That would just depend on the property. No 1200 rule on any of the state forests I hunt.

The rules says any land managed by the DNR Div. of Wildlife. The national forest is just like private being it is federal land. The reservoirs are leased to the State even though they are Army Corp of Engen. owned so the hunt times apply. This from a CO this afternoon. The forests are Div. of Forestry not Fish and Wildlife so that could be the difference.

The National Forest is the furthest thing from being "like private" but I think I understand what you are saying in regards to the rules. I have had people try to tell me that bonus antlerless tags for deer are not valid on the state forests I hunt because they take the rules from some FWAs and try to apply them across the board. To be sure you're in the clear, you just have to check the rules for that specific property you plan to hunt. Good luck to you dakid and everybody else getting out tomorrow!

Hey Lawrenceco, thanks for the reply. After rereading my original post I should of been better in my wording. The hunt hours are for areas managed by Fish and Wildlife, not all DNR properties. The 2 places I observed were a FWA and a reservoir property. Thanks and good luck to you and everyone!!
