If you killed a deer in Indiana and used CheckIN you would have got an opportunity to take the survey.

If you killed a deer in Indiana and used CheckIN you would have got an opportunity to take the survey. Really all you needed was a CID (Customer Idenitification number? ) . Basically registered with the DNR. I did not kill a deer last year and I took the Survey. It was open to all Indiana residents and all it took was registering with the DNR..

If you killed a deer in Indiana and used CheckIN you would have got an opportunity to take the survey. Is this the survey that Woody referenced in his link attachment? The one that went out in February? Or did you take it at the time of your deer check-in? LOL I'm confused whether guys are saying that there were 2 different surveys or just the one from February.

The survey that this thread was started about and the letter from DNR is the survey you are promoted to take if you wish after checking in a Deer. If this information is wrong someone explain what part is miss-information! Thanks

I think you are correct as that Survey was not well promoted.
The one I referenced was much better promoted.
So, can Someone post the results? Is there a link to the results?

If memory serves the survey was in the confirmation email...I'll try to confirm or refute that.

Two different surveys.
One was open to anybody after season.
This thread is about one that's not necessarily a survey, but additional information about the deer you checked in. A link is provided in your confirmation email. I got 2 letters/magnets because of doing it after two different check-ins.

Ha...this thread is as confusing as Indiana's deer license structure. Rube Goldberg would be proud.

I got another survey just a day or two ago. This one was all about small game hunting in Indiana. It included deer in the "small game" survey, but had many more questions about rabbit, squirrel, grouse, pheasant...
Had several questions that led me to believe that Indiana may be considering changes to the squirrel seasons and/or bag limits. Personally, I would like to see them separate deer season and squirrel season. I love to squirrel hunt, but I don't want to be in the woods making a racket during deer season.
I'd rather have a different time schedule so I could fully enjoy both seasons.

I got my thank you letter today on the deer harvest/survey completion also a New magnet for 2018 as well. Made my day!
I wonder if some emails send it to spam. And that is why they did not receive the email?

I'm hoping for a sweet squirrel and or rabbit magnet for completing the small game survey.

So how many surveys were there? Just one? I took the one referenced in the thread above, but that was in February, not after I checked a deer. There was a bowhunting survey which basically was a daily summary of what you saw while hunting from deer to squirrels to racoons and so on and how often and how long you hunted. It was a meticulous project but I completed it every day I hunted. It ran from opening day until gun season. I know that this is not the one being discussed. Nonetheless it was interesting to tabulate the time I spent hunting and what I saw. It was particularly interesting when the rut kicked into high gear and what I saw and the behavior of the deer. It was like an elementary school playground. I did get my magnet and a summary of the data collected
