Just found out I have been selected for a draw hunt in Muscatatuck this turkey season. I have not had an opportunity to hunt anything here before and to be honest I have never been there before. I plan on scouting it hard on my off days but I was wanting to get some turkey hunting information about this place. Any information would be much appreciated. -
PS I am not asking for exact info about where to sit and where to shoot thank you.

I hunted this property two years ago with my grandson for youth Spring turkey. We lasted about three hours. This is one of the worst maintained public areas in Indiana. Of course it is federal property and that may explain part of my opinion. It is so overgrown that the access to the property is limited. I saw no evidence of a controlled burn. A huge part of the western property is no hunting. The best, and perhaps, the only access is at the far southern part of the property. There is a small lake and to the east of that is an old road that will give you access to the woods. Be sure to spray your clothes with permethrin and spray all uncovered skin with a repellent. The mosquitos are voracious. We did not see or hear any turkeys. I will never hunt there again. Just my experience. I am sure other hunters may have a more positive attitude about this property
