I haven't been watching Fox news as much the last year or so. When I did, I tended to watch Shep Smith's show most often.
That was before I saw the fact that he was gay. I was surprised by that when I found it to be true, but it was also surprising to me how little difference it made in my enjoyment of his presentation and his personal slant on the matters being discussed. I do disagree with him on some matters, but I like his apparent skepticism of some of the material, and his obvious disgust with the president's versions of the facts.
I share much of that same distrust of the truth as spoken by DJT, but as I always tell anyone else raking the current pres over the coals, the important thing is....he's not Hillary!
That is the one saving grace to his reign so far. His appointments to the SC and to the district courts, and some if not all of his staff, have been better than we could possibly have expected from her.
It's hard to sort out the wheat from the chaff when comparing DJT tweets and rants to MSM lies and distortions, and eventually it just wears you out without providing a satisfying feeling of having won a point, let alone the game.
History may tell, but it's only written by the survivors and victors, not necessarily the ones who were telling the truth as it happened, if indeed any were. Searching for the truth has always been a difficult endeavor and one with an elusive goal line. It's easy to be distracted by the more pleasant or palatable "truths" offered along the way, and the struggle is often abandoned as being an impossible one.
I think we are going through a particularly polarizing period of our history and that polarization is being used by some on each side and has been for quite some time. That situation has arisen before in history, and has sometimes led to tragic circumstances like war, but has more often led to periods of more reasonable discussion and moderation with cooler heads leading the way. This one could still go either way, IMO.
Isn't there an old Chinese curse that asks "May you live in interesting times"?
The more important thing might be to make our best assessment of how we came to be in this particular pickle, and how we can best prevent repeating that mistake.
could this forum be leftist now? Fox news is a FINO, Fox in name only, it is no longer Fox. I'll add this, Fox will endorse Budajudge for President. Made this prediction this morning and shazam, OAN announced Murdoch just donated the max to him while at the same time the President was questioning Fox news lame questioning of Sanders.
I made the prediction based on Fox news addiction to homosexuality, its all consuming nature will not allow anything or anyone who doesn't feed it, no matter what.
Interesting. Lots of room for speculation about early support from unexpected donors. Could it be a "poison pill" to give Bootyjudge the early boost that could snowball him to the nomination, with the expectation of him being the candidate we'd most like to run against in the fall? Watching the Dems caught between bashing the LBGTU crowd and losing the unionist lunchbox portion of their fan base would make for some interesting politics, and they seem to be setting themselves up for the same mistake the GOP made in the last go-round with seventeen vying for the primaries.
One seemingly unelectable candidate with a devoted minority support base can be propelled through the primaries if they're played right and many who might have otherwise voted against him are left with their favorite candidates having dropped out due to weak numbers in the early races. It's a weakness in the system that didn't show up until the modern primaries became more open and less of a show between the candidate selected by party leaders behind closed doors and some doofus they wanted to "run against" to make the voters feel like they'd made the decision themselves.
