Slap on the wrist. This guy is sitting there thinking "totally worth it". I am pretty sure he lost the mount. That's a given.... always has been! And any prior deer entered in any record book is deleted!

First off, I lived in Dubois Co. for the first 24 years of my life. I am well-aware of what goes on around there.
There is absolutely no telling how many deer of this caliber go unreported in the Holland/Stendal/Selvin area. Not to say that everyone there is shady, but just trust me. The northern part of the county and into Martin is no better.
If I'm not mistaken, Mark Gill wrote an occasional outdoors article for the local newspaper many years ago. What a conservationist!

I would have liked to see them slap the crap out of him! We have no place in our sport for POACHERS! They do nothing more than tarnish the image of real hunters and he stole that harvest opportunity from other hunters.
During those 100 hours of community service they should make him wear a T-shirt that simply reads "POACHER - forced to do community service". That will serve the purpose far better than anything else. Make him feel the actual shame of his choice! I wouldn't remove the name from the books either...*poached* right next to it ought to do it!
Man, POACHERS #@$$ me off!

I talked to a few buddies that still live in the area. It seems this idiot is destined for a Darwin intervention.
The story I’m getting is that he shot two bucks in 2016 with the monster being after the first buck was tagged. He took some very nice photos in a bean field with a very distinguishing backdrop and stashed it in the freezer until 2017. He the started distributing the photos and claimed it as his 2017 buck. And the problem was....the savvy farmer rotated the crop and it was a corn field in 2017. The photos spread fast a local who hunts nearby and does no care for the guy noticed something odd. The rest is self explanatory.
I don’t know the guy, but two locals told me that he is not a very nice guy. Insert your own adjective.
Also, I stand corrected. He did NOT write for the local paper, but was often mentioned by the author for his hunting a fishing success.

Really nfalls, what are you saying? Relation of yours?? Come on, guys. Have you not read NFalls comments over the years? Although I don't know him, I do understand his sense of humor. He brings a very lighthearted, comical sense of humor to the site. I would almost guarantee that his comment was "tongue in cheek". Personally, I thought the comment was hilarious.

We tend to see that more often now with the social media... just has to brag... Good on the guy that caught it...

Social Media will be the downfall of many people. I'd love to see some statistics of how many job seekers were not hired OR people were fired because of what they had posted on social media.

However, lots of people are also hired partly because of what they have on their social media site. Some places won't even give you a shot at an interview if you don't have a social media site for them to "troll" you first. You can learn a lot about a person by spending a few minutes on their social media sites and seeing what they post and comment on.
