My favorite gobble is in the woods. When that long beard is working his way towards you and his gobble is ecoing and getting louder as he comes.

I like when there are two toms that are close together on the roost and at daylight when they start opening up, they both try to outdo the other by double or even triple gobbling

With my hearing.....any gobble I can hear. Me too!! Hunting with my son he would text me “do you hear that bird a hammering it back on the ridge”? “Uh, no”.. I’ve got better hearing aids now and they help. Before I wore hearing aids at all I couldn’t hear a bird unless he was right on top of me..I had a bird come out in the field I was on. He was about 200 yards away. He did that gobble motion but I heard nothing. When he finally got to within 75 yards or so I could hear him. Protect your hearing folks...

What do you do when you shoot while wearing hearing aids Woody? Mine will muffle it down some but not much. I can mute them on my phone but that takes a little movement.

The one you can feel in your chest. They don't all do it but when you can feel it like bass you know it's a mature gobbler.

I have a set of electronic muffs. I would not gun hunt without them..
I forgot them one day during deer gun season so removed my hearing aids and I made ear plugs out of toilet paper.

Seen my first strutting Tom of the year, from the distance he was at he must of been the size of Big Bird. Strutting around 7-8 hens in the middle of a picked bean field.
I bought a primos Gobbler call the one with the silencer flip cap on the end. I can't get a good sounding mature gobble out of it. The one handed shaking motion sounds like a decent Jake gobble which I imagine will help bring in the toms more. I won't really use it unless last resorts throw one in after a couple yelps and sit.

I never knew turkeys roosted so high in trees before, I walked down the trail in my woods and must of startled them. There must of been 30 or more up there bouncing around, they were breaking branches left and right.
