I started scouting on Monday morning. Moreless just watching the flock and seeing where they are and getting some numbers. Flock is currently 42 strong. They'll bust up in the spring as usual I hope. Seen a group of 4 long beards traveling together as well. I cleared all my deer hunting gear out of my ozone closet and replaced it with my turkey gear. No intentions of running the ozone generator for turkey season but, makes a handy closet anyhow.
I've been greasing the wheels on two of my nephews. One is 13 and the other is 14. Trying to peak their interest in the outdoors. They have both agreed to go turkey hunting this spring with me and I hope they do. I'll keep talking to them about and maybe get them on a couple scouting trips before hand.

I am just the opposite. Turkeys leave the property every year end of October. Then Bang first of April they are back.

Already have the trail cams up and had 7 toms in one group pass by one of them. Should continue to increase as the season draws near.

I've been out doing some shed hunting/turkey scouting here the last couple of weeks. Some spots look good, fresh scratches and a few sightings, some not really holding any sign, at least not yet. Still haven't heard any gobbles yet though.

I'm headed out this weekend to put cams out, do some scouting and trim up a few of my favorite spots to sit.

Great outing this morning! Seen and heard turkeys soon as I arrived. Got the Redneck ready and a few other natural blinds cleared out. Seen some good sign and placed my cameras out. April 24th can't get here soon enough!

Had to do some work on the truck today. Every time I'd bang something with the BFH the turkeys would light up behind the house.

27 deer this morning. Never fails when your hunting turkeys the deer show up. Hunt for deer and your cover up with turkeys. Turkeys didn’t seem to fired up this morning. Hens were in the corn field and the toms were standing in the yard.

Looking at the 10 day forecast, I think I'll have to add this to my turkey gear...

I have killed over half my birds in rain. Even downpours are ok in a blind. As long as its not an all out storm or big winds, I will be out.
