One deer positive-killed and then 2500 deer samples all negative. Anything else now is insanity. Looks like the cattle/deer farms owners need to go hash-hash and underground. Big brother taking over the land.

Hmmm.... Going over board or not enough? I thought this was done a couple years ago? Per some emails I received the article is not completely factual..... but yes more testing to be done.... I hear many land owners where contacted last year Nov-Dec time frame by DNR and the USDA-Wildlife Services team members have contacted those that oked the use of their property for sampling. From email.... Example: "That the cattle owner was presented with two choices for what to do with her herd. That’s not accurate. We gave her one option (depopulate) and she researched the federal rules and found there was another (test-and-remove). We didn’t have any authority to deny that of her. So, there is more to the parts of the story than the editor provided."More.... "My impression is that they don’t expect to take very many because the animals won’t be very active.
This is NOT some mass herd reduction. It’s about sampling"

One of the hunters I hunt with live in that area and has an 80 acre farm. Next time I see Dave I'll asked him about it. His father and uncle still live in the area.

The issue I see is the cattle farm should have been depopulated two and a half years ago when all this started. That alone would have kept this from dragging on this long.
I understand deer hunters don't want to lose targets in the area and don't really care about the cattle industry. The problem with bTB getting established in the cattle industry is it will change the state's grade of marketable meat and instantly raise retail beef prices locally.
