Anyone heard any black panther sightings in Decatur county pics floating around say it is true. Thought they only dropped these cats on Hoosier national forest and crane? Did this cat travel? This is bad news for the bobcat population.

Well...he's blowing smoke because those two little towns are on the exact opposite ends of the county. One is NE and the other is SW.

I have heard people talk for years about large black cats in the area, but there has never been anything offered as proof.
We had a cougar pass through the county back around 1990 that I saw on property Huntinfreak hunts.
We do have pockets of bobcats and some of them seem to be quite dark.
A true "black panther" is a tropical climate animal, but there are darker phase cougars in the world.
Both areas you mentioned have a population of bobcats, but no word - or more importantly proof - of anything bigger has come to my attention. I'll reach out and see what I can find out.

Lots of critters look to be dark in the shade or at night.
There are no “black panthers” in the USA..

Looks like a house cat to me.. What he said. ^^^^^^^^ Or, depending on camera location proximity to homes, a ditch lion. Ditch lions come in a multitude of sizes, colors, and human tolerance levels but all should be treated with caution because they can cause severe damage, swelling, and possible loss of movement in joints through cat scratch fever transmission. They take a huge toll on small game animals and newly hatched turkeys. The best course of action we have developed is a long range round of bang flop flop and proper disposal. Identifying characteristics of a ditch lion is multiple or continued sightings more than a mile from a residence, lack of a collar, and extreme human avoidance. Proceed with caution.

Well maybe this will convince you skeptics! I'm not a skeptic at all, I just know such critters as a different name.
