I believe there will not be another shutdown. I think Trump will call a national emergency and get the wall built. I know the liberals will sue and find a judge to halt it but Trump owns the supreme court and will win in the end right before next election. A well laid out plan for re election.

I truly hope not...once that precedent has been set it'll be used again for something most here will hate.
National emergency on gun violence.
National emergency on global warming.
National emergency on life just isn't fair so let's take from those who have and give to those who have not.

I couldn't agree more. What would happen in the liberals decided to what you mentioned swilk, that's a scary thought.

Looks like the spending bill is going to get passed and we won’t be shut down for a second time. Also includes a pay raise for federal employees. I’ll take it. Now to see if trump will actually declare emergency to fund the rest of his wall.

Listening to rush Limbaugh, I didn’t realize there are 31 national emergencies in effect right now. Obama did one for Obama care. So the slippery slope argument doesn’t hold water.

No need to, if the Democrat's were going to make a run on guns, climate, etc. They would not have to have this particular national emergency declaration to prod them into crossing that bridge, it was crossed years ago. The scotus will be the final say so on what happens here and in future declarations. Kind of reminds me of the nuclear option dems took that came back and bit them in the behind. Will this bite the Republicans behind? Not with the current scotus.

Like I said, we will meet back here in a few years and discuss it. Either I'll be right or you will. I truly hope you are but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
