Fishing wasn't that great on Superior today, boys fished from dark to dark. Brian caught a eel pout first thing and his buddy caught the only laker (32inch). They tried going out at Two Harbor but ice was blowing out, they moved south closer to Duluth for better ice. Giving it another try tomorrow.

My neighbor asked if he could bring his 3 yr old son to ice fish. The ice was 3"-4" and his son stepped in the ice hole and got wet to his knee, but before he did that he caught an 11" Yellow Perch and a couple 9" bluegills. He was a happy kid!

Made a quick trip of about 5 days down to Florida and fished with my brother. Didn't do real well. Managed to catch some nice crappie but really had to work for them. Brother caught a 19" bass and my buddy lost one a whole lot bigger. Here is a picture of my brothers. If the bass looks little it's because my brother isn't, 325#.

Any idea what the bass weighed? It looks skinny to me. It should weigh around 3 pounds 14 ounces if it was 19" long.

Granted this is in a private pond, and the bass was eating commercial fish food, but I had a bass that I caught out of my pond a few years ago that weighed 5#-15 oz. and was 18.5" long. It was about 3" thick.

You guys look remarkably the same for that big of gap in age. Thought you were just eating that good. Lol

Couple quick ones today before the wind took hold of the lake. Love these Coho.

My friend Jim wanted to shake down his boat for the upcoming fishing season on Lake Erie so 3 of us went to lake Michigan and put in at Burns Ditch. There was a SW wind so we headed to the Gary lighthouse at U.S. Steel and circled around in the break wall area for about 3 hours. We were running planner boards with Bandits and a couple flat lines with thin fins.
We caught and kept 6 Coho averaging about 2 pounds a piece and we lost maybe 7 others. It was a nice sunny day with temps in the low 50's.

We hope to get out a couple more times this month but by the end of the month my friend and the boat owner Jim gets a severe case of Walleye on the brain and from that point on that boat will be resting in Lake Erie waters most of the summer and fall. Where did you put in at?
