No thanks!
I take mine home and gut hanging up. Have done it head up for over 25yrs. Still gets a little messy on the 1st 1 or 2 each year to retrain myself.
Then, a guy at work said to gut it head down. I kinda laughed, and he said to try it. By golly, I did and find it is so much easier and cleaner. I always use the garden hose, and when done, have a clean deer and garage area again.

Treetop, I hunt alone too. I just want to keep it clean. I just dont want sticks, leaves, creek water inside my deer. I take it to my gutting spot get some pics then gut. Just personal pref.

Strap the head as high as you can on the back rack of quad. Find a steep hill, lock the brake. You can maneuver deer quite easily this way just buy picking up back legs. Once your done flip and drain the blood. Just got to watch where your feet are or they will be covered once you pull out guts. Gravity is your friend.

One little toy I keep in my gutting bag is a butt out. That thing is really helpful.

One little toy I keep in my gutting bag is a butt out. That thing is really helpful. Same here, I'm sold on how well it works since I don't split the pelvis. If weather permits, I try to rinse out the body cavity of the deer with a hose after getting the guts out. Sometimes that isn't possible because I shut off the hose bibs and drain them once it gets below freezing out.

I watched a video the other day of a guy in TX skinning and quartering a deer in 10 minutes. He claims to be able to do it in five if not distracted. No gutting, period. The innards stayed in the rib cage and fell into a tub when he separated the hind section from the vertebrae.
I'll post the link if I can find it.

I have been gutting deer for 50 plus years, can do it by myself in less than 5 minutes. It would take longer to get that thing setup than to do the job. No thanks!

I may take longer than that to do mine, I'm not in any hurry if it's not in the single digits out. My little knife looks like a toothpick it's been sharpened so much, and all I use it for is field dressing the deer. I actually retired it and have a new one that is identical to it, except it has more metal on the blade.
A buddy splits the rib cage and pelvis, I don't. His knife is much larger than the one I use. To clean up, at least up North, there is snow on the ground and I carry a small towel in the backpack. Baby wipes in a zip loc bag work well too, if they aren't frozen solid.

I split the pelvis and rib cage / breast bone with a 4 inch saw you can really get in and pull every thing straight back I’d say my time is less than 5 minutes but that’s how I learned some many decades ago

My gutdaddy is my Kubota B3030 tractor and front end loader. It also will go to the woods and pick a deer up and deliver it.

After doing it once, I said I'll never do it any other way again. The best part is you hardly get any blood on yourself. The loppers ride in my truck from Oct 1 to whenever I decide I've had enough hunting.

My day pack weighs way too much now. As much as I would use it (maybe once a year) I'll just stick to the old fashioned way.
I never split the pelvis. I do use my knife to cut the ribs off to the side of the sternum far enough to be able to easily reach in grab the windpipe close to where it enters the body cavity.
