I've been looking at the 2019 Hoyt Redwrx Turbo. Salty! These bows and prices have me thinking I still need to do some more shopping. They are one of the few I will consider. I cannot justify most of the flagship prices IMO not worth it. However, the Mission line and Athens have both garnered my eye. The Mission MXR is SWEET....now to go shoot an Athens.

I have been shooting the Mission Venture for several years now and found it to be a good bow

My buddy bought a mission and loved it, but then he bought a kuma and loved it more. We both seem to always go back to Bear.

I've been looking at the 2019 Hoyt Redwrx Turbo. Salty! These bows and prices have me thinking I still need to do some more shopping. I think and read about this a lot. Flagship bows have become ridiculous from a price perspective. It is killing the compound bow industry. For those of you who follow Will Brantley in Field & Stream, his archery shop went out of business. That is a meaningful statement to me. The mentality of the fastest, smoothest draw, least vibration and so on is stupid but that is the sales pitch of the compound bow manufacturers for their flagship bows. $1500 to $1700 for a bare bow is stupid. I shoot a Mathews bow. Their flagship for 2018 and 2019 were right at $1000. Are they getting it? Who knows but that is a lot cheaper than the Hoyt's and PSE's. Whatever. Anecdotaly, my local shop said that he has sold more Mathews Triax than any other bow since he has been in business. and that is a long time. That is the F&S last compound bow of the year. Is that the beginning of a trend to pricing sanity? I hope. Add to the stupidity of the pricing, the demographics of hunters. We are getting older, me excluded, and we are shifting to crossbows as another tool in our box. Will I abandon my compound? No way. But will I mix in my crossbow? Heck yes. Rant off......

The Summit is the one in the new line up catching my eye.....I love smaller ATA for mobility, blind hunting and just "less of a bow" to worry about all around. I hope I don't like it, so I save money but love the price point if I do!

If you don't want to love it, don't shoot it, lol....I think the same way about size....my Summit performed flawlessly this year...

Might be worth giving them a call.

I will always choose a small ATA over longer any day for hunting.

The summit was new for 2018, so they kept it for 2019. If you find one and the price isn't what you can get it for on the website, you can have one delivered straight to your house by ordering online (tax free and free shipping).

I just read, and have read similar articles, about bow shops going under due to over pricing of bows. Although I really like that Hoyt, I will not be spending that kind of money on a bow. The Athens bows are nice but, I don't think there's any dealers close enough. I'm certain that I will be buying a new bow in the spring, just not sure which one. But I know which one's I will not be, the 2019 Hoyt Redwrk line.
