Woody, delete if not allowed. Hey folks, some of you may know already, but I've been a rep for Athens Archery since 2010. I joined their team because of the Indiana roots, the attention to detail and the "small company feel". Their customer service is the best in the industry (and their warranty is too). Being a small company with not a lot of marketing budget, the company relies on me to get the word out about our bows. We just released our two new bows for 2019. Some highlights of this year's offerings: - $799 MSRP! The quality of our bows fair exceeds this price point, as you will see the ridiculous bow prices out there right now. - Direct Online Sales! You can now purchase right on our website, www.AthensArchery.com- Kolorfusion coating! The toughest camo coating in the industry, nearly indestructible. - New camo offerings! We will be offering our bows in Realtree Edge, Kuiu Vias and Kuiu Verde 2.0 If you're interested in purchasing a new bow, let me know and I can get you a referral code. Thanks, guys! The two new bows: Ridge 34ATA: 34” Brace Height: 6 ¾” IBO: 335fps Draw lengths from 25-32” Draw weights from 40-70lbs 80-90% let-off Mass Weight: 4.3lbs Ridge 32ATA: 32” Brace Height: 6 ¾” IBO: 340fps Draw lengths from 25-30” Draw weights from 40-70lbs 80-90% let off Mass Weight: 4.3lbs

I read Athens is no longer owned by Hoosiers, did it sell?
That is awesome if so and congrats to the original owners, because that means they built a reputation and enough respect for a solid product that someone saw tremendous value in and future.
I will be honest I am gonna try to get down to Rochester sometime soon as I live close to come shoot one sometime...curious for sure!

Manufacturing is still at the plant in Athens, IN.

It was a good looking bow. The owners simply didn't want to invest in it. Their shop is very small so big changes are costly.

Athens are great bows, I have been shooting an Affliction since 2012. Compared all bows and this was the best fit for me, being an Indiana company made it even better. When I was looking I called the factory and they invited me up for a tour and to shoot any bow of theirs I wanted. Have not had any problems with mine since 2012.

I hope so, too! I am quite close to those involved and they are great people.

I LOVED my Afflixtion, still probably the 1 bow that just "fit" me.

Same for me, after the first shot I knew that was the bow. Being 6’ 5” and 250# I like the long axle to axle length.

arlowe - I'm not in the market right now, but my son is starting to press me to get a new bow, so I can hand down my current Mission to him. I love the idea of an Indiana made bow, and I've got a few questions:
1) The specs on the Summit indicates that it has a draw length from 25.5 to 30.5"; however, the drop down order box has options from 25 to 30.5". Which is correct? 2) Can Athens bows draw lengths be adjusted without a bow press? 3) Are there any dealers in the Indianapolis area? It doesn't look like based on the info on Athen's website.
Thanks!

Thanks! 1)Thank you for pointing that out (the website is brand new)...The minimum is 25.5 (I will fix the website) 2)Whole new cams are required for DL adjustments, which will require a press. 3)Our dealer network is slowly growing, but the website is up-to-date. I am from Indy and travel there often. I have a Summit and will have a Ridge 32 by the end of the year. I would be willing to meet up with you for you to check them out.

I've been looking at the 2019 Hoyt Redwrx Turbo. Salty! These bows and prices have me thinking I still need to do some more shopping.
