Live from the shop: I got rear-ended on I-70 on the way to work, gotta beat and bang to make it legally drivable. Not the best way to go about using a vacation day in November!!! That sucks. Good luck.

Hopefully everyone has gotten their power back on, however a lot of the lights going off on the days where we get ice and such can be avoided if property owners allow the utility to trim back their trees away from the power lines.
I'm not saying that anyone on this forum is to blame for having some of their neighbors/themselves be without power, but if someone comes from the utility or claims to be a contractor working for the utility and after you have done your due diligence allow them to get the branches away from the lines. It is for our comfort and more importantly in my book is public safety. I wouldn't want my girls climbing a tree where the branches are tickling the primary line.

Last summer, the county was changing the little bridge North of my house about 1/4 of a mile. The electric company shut off the power while they were setting a big culvert with 2 excavators. There are 2 huge dead ash trees near the power lines. I drive down with my tractor and 066 Magnum. I asked very nicely " how about letting me drop those 2 trees?" Their answer -"NOPE!" I tried, LOL.
