Well, I ended up getting out the last day while it was misting and raining to run two more rabbits.
First one made a real long circle and back and instead of coming back to where it was jumped, it went into a bulldozed pile of brush.
The second one went three full circles before I got to a spot where I caught him with some #5s. That one never did get anywhere near where it was jumped. There is one that always does this around this particular area of that property and then we lose it in a marshy place that usually holds water, so we might have finally got that one!
The misting turned to a drizzle and we hunted for another hour without jumping another rabbit. Guess they all sheltered up when it started raining.
This was the first time I have ran a solo dog in 6 years and I will have to say that it was a lot of fun to watch him work by himself, but I would love to get me a pup from some really slow bloodline to run with him.
