That is a good deal. I like the .450 BM, it's a hard hitting cartridge and actually fairly flat-shooting out to about 200-250 yds.

I hope the 450 lives up to its rep. Will by my first year using it in an ar. Its been very accurate. I was also excited about 44 magnum until actually shooting a deer with it. It's hard to compete with a 12 ga slug for stopping deer. Used a 30-06 for a couple deer that went further and less blood trail than 12ga. It sets the bar high!

My local Walmart had a CVA hunter chambered in .450 bushmaster for $226.00 a week or so ago.

But, bullet choice goes a long way in any caliber, as well as shot placement. A softer bullet, like a Ballistic Tip, will knock them over a lot of times. Or a harder bullet like a Partition or Accubond thru the shoulder, neck, or spine will make a blood tracking job null and void.

I handload all my ammo. I put together a very unique combo for last years park hunt. Not a 450bm, but 454 Casull shot thru a 460sw Encore barrel. Its a 300gr Barnes MZ bullet seated out since the chamber is way longer for the 460. It put down my small buck on the spot with a heart shot. Similar speed to the 450bm. screenshot software
