She's a runner! Truly a Snortin' Norton now! It's hard to describe the feeling of getting an old machine running again. Satisfaction for sure! I need to work on the carbs a bit more and maybe the valve clearance. That will come in time. I decided to take the Norton and one of my BMW's to a Car and Bike Show down near Atterbury on Saturday. The Commando 850 was a huge conversation piece, especially among the middle aged and old timers! She won the Show (for motorcycles) and she won a lot of hearts, too! It probably didn't hurt that I did a little stroytelling...And let young little kids and old men alike sit on the bikes and play around a bit! The setting for the show was awesome and I met a ton of new friends: The ole girl in her glory:

Resurrected this thread.
High Cotton,
Do you still have the old girl and take her for a spin once in awhile?

Resurrected this thread. High Cotton, Do you still have the old girl and take her for a spin once in awhile? I don’t have the bike. I sold it to a doctor in Chicago. He owned a similar Norton back in the 70’s and was ecstatic to own one again. He said he’d ride her and show her!
