Recently picked up a new .22 rimfire rifle and zeroed it in yesterday. Decided I'd try three different types of ammo that I had plenty of on hand to see what grouped the best.
CCI Mini Mag Remington Golden Bullets Armscore 36gr
In the past I've been a big fan of the CCI ammo, but had purchased a bunch of the Armscore when other types were hard to get a couple years ago. In side by side testing, the Armscore grouped considerably better than the others. Even tried it out in a second .22 rifle and found same results, so zeroed that rifle accordingly.

Thanks for the info. Will give that a try. Always used mini mags out of my 10/22 but my new buckmark shoots a much tighter group with golden bullets of all things.

They all have their preferences! Most take several shots when switchng ammo to settle in. I save the worst shooting stuff for pistol shooting and when my boy is just plinking and to learn technique. I found the Rem Golden to shoot great too. The other Rem stuff is crap! Lol

Just found out that my 10-22 likes Golden Bullet better than CCI Mini-mag.

My 541T likes CCI standard; the faster stuff from CCI, not so much

My 1022T really liked the subsonic Rem golden HP's! Off the bench out at the club, it shot one-ragged-hole groups at 35 yards. I'd always been pretty proud of the older Marlin I squirrel hunt with, and it liked the subsonics too, but the Ruger had the accuracy to really show off with them.
I had wondered whether my semi-autos would cycle reliably with the lower powered stuff, but both the 1022T and my old Mark I did fine with them, no problems loading at all.
I liked them whem hunting with the Marlin as well. The reduced noise level was a welcome bonus, and the hollow points seemed to open enough to get the job done without tearing up as much meat as the higher powered CCI HP's I had used for years.
I had also never been a fan of the Remingtons. They were the first brand of ammo I had available at the little country market near our farm, but as soon as I was able to get some other brands, they went down in my eyes as having too many that were not loaded with a full powder ration. But that was 60 years ago, and I guess the brand has improved since.

The lower right is my best group with with the mixed bag I took with me. AQUILLA SUB-SONIC, Browing T-Bolt, scope set on 9X. The tighter groups are from the Browning, the more open are from an iron sited Glendfield 60 I was working on. All shot at 25 yards over a rest. I don't remember what all I shot but the 60 impressed me buy handling it all. I need to scope it. I used to shoot Win T22 and Rem sub-sonic HP in the Browning but both are hard to find. BTW you will remember the AQUILLA if you ever shoot it.

Glendfield is much cheaper and I learned it only likes to be loaded with about 10 shells at a time to avoid feeding problems. 10-22 runs almost flawlessly.

I am not going to tell him that though. The 60 I was shooting was a mess when I bought it. Would not feed more than 2 rounds at the most. Stovepiped the rounds, emptys stuck in the chamber about any misfeed happened with it. I tore it apart and got about a pound of crap out of it. Soaked the bolt in brake cleaner then blasted it with air. I took a brass brush and LEAD OUT to the bore. Runs like a champ now.

I've shot quite a bit of the colibri and the super colibri. The colibri is good for up close (and I mean close) range work. The super colibri is good out to about 20-25 yards before it starts to become so slow that the accuracy goes in the crapper.
Both rounds are quiet...A buddy of mine was shooting his new gamo whisper and I pulled out some colibri ammo to shoot out of my bolt action Ruger American and the combination proved to be significantly more quiet than his pellet rifle.

I really like the Federal ammo, it`s all I carry in my Glocks, and I use Federal 30.06 ammo for deer. I`ve wanted to try the Federal Hunter Match .22 LR ammo, but haven`t been able to find it on the shelf anywhere I`ve been in the Indianapolis area. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I have a Romanian M69 training rifle. It will tack drive with anything ran through it. I went $25 half in with my Uncle back in 1999 to buy it from a gun store. it has Flip up rear iron sights for 25, 50, 100 yds a very interesting rifle! Several other old .22s but the mentioned takes the cake.
That aquilla round is the one loaded only with primer? Or something to that effect? A friend was showing me at the range a long while back. Hardly if any "BANG!" at all..?
Is it the colbri or super colbri?

Do you try smart scopes? I found several interesting models from ATN( here), characteristics and possibilities are really impressive! I want to buy for example ATN X-Sight 4K BuckHunter 5-20x, what do you think, is it good variant? Some reviews?
