I would like to find a lease on a small property that is reasonable for one person potentially to the other being my wife. All seasons if need be. I am an experienced hunter who left the woods due to my brother's suicide. I went on a unsuccessful but fun Turkey hunt this spring. I am really ready to hit the woods for deer season though. With that being said. Is there anyone or anywhere that would let me piggyback there lease or provide me with an outfitter that deals with small leases no outfitter 3 or 5 day hunts please. I am a stay at home father by design to my 3 year old daughter which does not mean I am lazy just the way it was planned. So I can hunt most days throughout the week I have set aside somewhere between 1500 and 2000 dollars for a quality lease. Is that a reasonable request for a very small lease or should I try to find someone to go into a partnership with. I would also potentially like to teach my fiance to hunt. I hunt the wind and will not under no circumstance hunt a property where the wind is not right even using my ozonics machine. Hate bumping deer period. I have on the pass hunted tough state lands but just want a different place the first year back. I don't need to shoot a monster just a decent buck and couple of does hopefully. Not a trophy hunter but believe in QDMA. Just looking on advice on where to start. I am 34 and I consider myself a decent deer hunter on state land you have to be in my neck of the woods. Thanks to all

Welcome back to hunting and Hunt-Indiana.com!
I would think that the money you are talking about would be sufficient to get some ground or participate in a lease. What part of the state are you in?

It seems like most leases around here are going around $20-40 per acre, the less expensive ones are usually negotiated directly with the landowner, no middleman.
I would think that if you started knocking on doors with that $2k in hand, you'd find some land fairly quick.
