We need to get a group together and plan for a hog hunt next year. We can handle 5 or 6 guys at a time. Could do a long weekend up to a week. Could do some stand hunting over bait, some night hunting with thermal, but we mainly hunt with dogs. The best time to go is Feb because the woods are clean, the temps are cool and the snakes aren't crawling. If any of y'all think this sounds like something y'all want to do let me know.

I actually talked to a couple of my buddies that I run beagles with about this. All seem to think they'd like to do it bit getting something put together is a whole nother ball game. Me and another are all in but not to keen on killing em. For no other reason then, well we've come pretty soft over the years wanting or needing to kill anything, but love to come down and watch and help out with the catching them. The others are kill happy enough that they'd probably clean half of Texas out before they got bored with it. If I can get something set up, maybe for a long weekend, what are we needing? Is there lodging close by, cost of license, place we can butcher the pigs, where abouts are you located. Like I said, me and one other are game to come just to watch the dogs but really would be fun if I could get all of em to come down.

We located in far northeast texas. Red River county. Need to bring to some brush clothes and some rubber boots. There are hotels near. As far as license go we hunt in Texas Arkansas and Oklahoma. So just depends on where we go.

I DO have a set of snake gaiters bought specifically for when I'm down that way and they are out!

Ha I was trout fishing in a stream in California, went in on a trail with my hip waders. When I walked back upstream to get out at the same trail I almost stepped on a rattlesnake that was in the trail right next to the water. I decided that I could stay in the stream a little while longer, and fish upstream for a bit. LOL
