Just tape a fishing reel on it and now its a fishing rod. Going green and re-purposed it. Just heavy enough to keep the cats from pulling it in the water.

Should have stated this bill was introduced in Feb but now they are trying to garner enough cosigners to push through. dailycaller.com/2019/09/12/house-democrats-assault-weapons-ban/This is not only bill being reviewed. The others will be Red Flag Law, Universal Background Check and the bill to release private medical records into a federal database. I'll do some digging and post appropriate bill #'s

If anything were to actually pass it would likely be as toothless as the last "assault weapons ban".
They aren't going to ban and/or confiscate the existing 10,000,000 (or more) firearms. They aren't going to confiscate tens of millions of magazines with a capacity of 10 rounds or more. Both will be "grandfathered in".
If they banned any new magazines over 10 rounds from being manufactured after a certain date, existing manufacturers and importers will do what was done last time. They manufactured the h*ll out of mags before the ban took place and sold them for years.
This is all just typical political posturing...

I agree, we have all heard their growling before. The bumpstock ban made me realize, these idiots will take rights away. Yes, it's just a piece of plastic, so what? I don't own on. It's the fact, they are ripping away at our Constitutional rights a small bit at a time. Several sayings come to mind, "They came for the socialist and I did not speak out, because I was not a socialist. Then they came for trade unionist..... How do you eat an elephant? 1 bite at a time. Boiling a frog. Point is, when do we say No More giving in?

If anything comes out of this, it will likely be background checks on all private sales and red flag laws that are going to likely effect every poor b***tard, who gets divorced as his wife's attorney starts playing CYA by trying to take the guys firearms away from him. It's the next step up from what a lot of attorneys do now when they try to get the wives to put restraining orders on their husbands (when they are getting divorced) just to cover their (the attorneys) rear ends.

President Trump United Nation speech included the following:
That is why this year I announce that we will never ratify the UN Arms Trade Treaty, which would threaten the liberties of law abiding American citizens. The United States will always uphold our constitutional right to keep and bear arms. We will always uphold our second amendment. The core rights and values America defends today were inscribed in America's founding documents, our nation's founders understood that there will always be those that will believe they are entitled to real power and control over others.
Patriots see a nation and its destiny in ways no one else can. Liberty is only preserved, sovereign is only secured, democracy is only sustained, greatness is only realized by the will and devotion of patriots. In their spirit it is found the strength to resist oppression, the inspiration to forge legacy, the goodwill to seek friendship and the bravery to reach for peace.

The same thing happened to me. I lost all my guns in a boating accident too! Funny how that happens. Here in Evansville a women was allededley involved in a murder. The FBI sent a dive team here and they recovered the murder weapon in Pigeon Creek. Pigeon Creek here in Evansville is bigger than some Rivers up North. The Ohio River here is a mile across and that's what I call a REAL RIVER. Anything smaller than that is what I would call a creek. Anyway the dive team found part of the gun that was used in a shooting here in town. The women is sitting in jail now waiting trial. Her husband or boyfriend is on the most wanted list here and when they catch him he will be sitting in jail too. But the reason I brought this up is that even if you dump your AR15 into the lake the FBI can send divers down and recover it. All they need is the GPS Locations. EEK!

From what I heard on the television that the high school students kept at it until the law was passed. Gun owners including myself need to get more aggressive on protecting our rights as gun owners . I`m an NRA Life-Endowment member, and a Gun Owners of America, (GOA) annual member. These days, I much prefer GOA over NRA. I`ve seen NRA endorse soft gun control, but I honestly don`t believe GOA would ever do that. I believe NRA is still a viable option, but again, I much prefer GOA. Just join one of the good, major gun rights groups, and don`t just pay the dues, make additional contributions as you can, and actively support them by being available to volunteer as needed. This is a critical time, in a very critical fight for freedom.

This^ Been a member of GOA for a while. Volunteer when they are at gun shows or speaking events. They will even send you prewritten post cards to mail to POTUS, Senators, Congressman, etc. I've even added and deleted some wording on them to fit my opinion.

They can take that bill and shove it where the sun don't shine. We need to vote these gun hating people out of office. At least we can count on the Senate to put this on hold .. forever!

I don't carry my phone when I go boating unless it's in a watertight box and I have to put the phone inside the box before I take the boat out. Better safe than sorry. My new smartphone cost me a lot more than my first flip phone. Nearly 4 or 5 times as much and it's not waterproof nor does it float. But I use the phone when I 'm off the water and back in the parking lot to phone home to let everyone know I'm off the water safely. My first cell phone was purchased at Walmart. Cheap $100 flip phone. I lost it in Otter Pit way back in the day. I went out and bought one just like it the next day. Later in life, I found and bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and still have it today. I don't know what I would do without my smartphone/computer. I take it with me everywhere along with a charging plug and USB cable to connect the phone to the charger. That and my EDC pistol go with me almost everywhere these days. I just purchased a new carry gun. Walther PPQ SC will be my new carry pistol. It came with three magazines. A 15 shot and two 10 shot magazines. I got the gun for a good price too. Can't wait to get it cleaned up, oiled and take it to the shooting range and try it out.
