Lots of common sense, but understandable given these things can remove fingers.

I put the Warrior G3 together last night. Easy assembly. Seems to be a good rig. The scope was clear and set just about right for me. I may need to push it forward slightly. This one does not come with a cocking mechanism, so need to get one of those, and a target before I try it out. I just opened the box this morning along with one of my grandsons before he boarded the school bus. He was so stoked. I was a little surprised at how enthused he was. Per Woody's suggestion, I told him that we were not going to get in a hurry because I want he and I to sit together and watch the video. Apparently the safety portion is very good! They will emphasize OVER AND OVER AND OVER again about thumb and finger placement. The fore grip has a ledge on that make it doubly difficult to do that but believe it or not some people still do get fingers and thumbs smacked.... Its no surprise to me that he is "stoked". Kids like crossbows...

Tried to buy one last evening but failed. The store confirmed there were two still in stock, and confirmed the price. However, they said the only way to buy it for later pickup at the store would be to buy it online from the Walmart site, and when I went to it the price was still at $362 and change. Didn't seem to be any way to verify the sale price before hitting the button to close the deal.
I finally gave up and decided it would be better to just drive up there today and hope one's still there when I get there.
Online shopping sure seemed like it would be a great deal more efficient, but still appears to have a few bugs to work out.
Anyway it looks like a will be a nice country drive of about forty minutes through open country that's mostly in the Indy Reduction Zone, so I'll probably enjoy it. Should be underway in a few minutes.
Had planned to wait until I had the chance to try a Vortec RDX, but this deal was just too good to pass up. Not sure if this one will end up as my main squeeze, my bad weather/backup bow/ or my break-in crossbow while I wait for the deal on that "perfect match". Time will tell. Liked lots of what I read on the specs and reviews, especially about the trigger and accuracy, and the overall weight.
I see it comes with aluminum bolts (2219), which are generally falling out of favor, but I think in my case that will be a plus. I still have several 2219 shafts in the garage that will supply me with more bolts with some new nocks, and I suspect the aluminum shafts will be MUCH easier to find with my metal detector after passing through stuff 8^). I'll trade off a few FPS for that and a little extra penetration. We'll see shortly.

Russ,
Your cut down to 20” 2219s will work. I started with cut down 2213s way back in 2001.
You will need to buy the TenPoint Omni nocks to install in them,
Enjoy your new hunting tool!

As of last night greenfield had a good selection of a few. Including wicked ridge and a bear reverse draw. And some of those barnettes...

Picked up a Barnett Recruit Terrain over lunch. That and the Jackal were the only 2 left around here. May well be a little while before I can get out with it.

Got my Warrior. $249 as advertised. Only cocking device they had was a Barnett that said it "worked on most crossbows", and looked like it would do it OK. Only nine bucks so I risked it.
Still in the truck. Had some other shopping that need to be done, so after a few hours of wandering through a SuperWally and the round trip with a couple other stops, this old hunter is about ready for a nap rather than a hurried trip to the range.
The Greencastle Wally still had another one when I left a couple hours ago, if anyone's interested.

I didn't even realize the bolts that came with it were aluminum, which is fine by me. My grandson, Tyler and I are in the first stages of assembly now.

So, my grandson Tyler and I started the assembly process on the Warrior G3 last night. The first thing we did was sit on the couch and watch the Owner's Instructional DVD together. I am very impressed. From the founder's introductory comments to the very end, it is top notch. A few weeks ago, Tyler was asking me about my flintlock hunt and as he listened to the details and looked at the photos he made the comment that he wasn't sure if he could kill a deer because they were such beautiful animals. I told him that I respect that and I think the same thing. I told him how there is a tinge of remorse and respect every time I pull a trigger. So, he has been pondering these thoughts. Something interesting happened last night. Once he got that crossbow in his hands, he lit up. He called his Mom on the phone and told her...Guess what Mom...Grandpa and I just assembled a crossbow. It's not a toy one. It's a real "deer killin' crossbow" that I'm gonna shoot my first deer with. We'll see how things play out in the future. I do know this, I will expose him to the experience. We'll take it from there. Here he is trying it out: Take a close look at the photo. This turned into a lesson whereby I made him stop and go through the ~15 minute safety chapter again before proceeding! In his excitement, he rushed to sight down the bow as you can see. As I looked and saw his finger on the trigger...it was time for the teaching moment! All in all this has been (and continues to be) a cool journey.

Hate is a strong word but I strongly dislike most of you right now. I couldnt even find dead down wind detergent on clearance cause the local walmarts never even stocked it.

I was hoping to find a Wicked Ridge but Shelbyville to Bloomington were out. It sounds like I should be glad to find something. Went with that one over the Jackal because it came with a scope instead of a red dot. It had a stringer included as well.

A little late now I know, but that’s not too bad of a drive.

And here I thought it was cool that the west side still carried guns.

In Ohio the Walmart's in my area are near 0 in hunting stuff. A few BB guns and that's it. I'm glad I'm only 20 minutes to the Lawrenceburg Walmart. Hopefully, it doesn't turn into an Ohio like store. I saw last night they are closing some of Walmart's and Sam's club in Ohio.

Happen to walk through the sporting goods section at the west side Columbus store and there was one of wicked ridge crossbows left. I couldn’t pass it up and am getting ready to put it together now.

Good deal! I just laser bore sighted ours at 20 yards since the DVD mentioned the scope is dialed in at that yardage! Yep, it's sighting like it's dead on!
