Every hunter is different and has their own ways or traditions. I am good with them all...even the blow hards so long as they are on the up and up. I just don't spend much time around them. I don't make hunting a job. I can't do it. If I don't want to go I don't. I hardly hunt evenings. I know guys that run themselves to dirt because it is hunting season or trapping season or fishing is hot. Go out if they have flu etc...I feel like I have to do that for work not something I do for the fun of it. Deer hunting...i am sit on a stool and see what walks by. Not a gimick or gizmo guy. Waterfowl hunting...gizmo and gagets all the way. True! When I retired 22 years ago on August 30th it was just in time to really get into the deer season. When October 1 arrived I started hunting as much as I could. I was in my stand almost daily.. Then one November morning morning when the wind was howling and sleet was hitting me in the face I asked myself " What in the heck are you doing? You just made one of your extreme pleasures into WORK?" Now I just hunt whenever I want and skip nasty days completely... It is back to enjoyment..

Just gonna throw this out there if you ever fell out of a tree stand you might understand why a guy wants to hunt from the ground One of my best friends (best man at my wedding) fell out of a stand and broke his back 30 years ago. He's lucky as he suffered no paralysis and pretty much healed up. It helped that both he and the guy he was hunting with that day were both Paramedics. He's pretty darn careful these days and so am I. It makes a life long impact on your hunting style when it hits that close to home. Pretty much a "There but for the grace of God go I" occurrence. I usually prefer being up in a stand as I think they offer a number of advantages; however, I do use ground blinds on occasion such as when it's raining and I use my pop up blind to stay dry. I've killed a lot of deer out of ground blinds as well.

Did the Hoodie have "Hit Squad " on it? What it says on it doesn't necessarily matter, but all true great hunters most wear a black hoodie. And face paint. Have to have the face paint. Not your whole face mind you. Just two black streaks below your eyes.

^^^^^^ you lack the face paint. Good try but you're basically still a rookie. You would have got plus points if the hoodie was hunting related. You do get negative points also for lack of detracting pose. And that pose is no where long enough armed to count. Deer has to be at least 5 foot in front of you.

Needless to say we don't have much competition and the CO has his hand on his gun when we get checked

I should have made it huge looking with big antlers, black on my face with just enough orange square area on my face since I on the ground and blinded by the light. Next time I'll add selfie extenders to put the deer 8 ft in front. I'll cover the selfie stick with camo, no one will know. Add snow on the ground and on me and act like life or death.

Yes, get some head scratches from fellow houndsman but all that matters is that you look good. I still need to get my, when the tailgate drops the bull stops, bumper sticker. I have a buddy that got a vanity license plate that said, jumpdog. Took him a year to live that one down. Didn't renew it. You think deer hunters are brutal, hang out with houndsman for a day.
