I sold some guns that were just collecting dust and went to BPS with enough cash to buy any crossbow in the store. I shot Ten Point, Excalibur, Barnett, etc. I walked out $600 later with a Parker Thunderhawk. Small, light, and accurate. That was four or five years ago, so I'm not sure if it's still available. NONE of the deer that I have harvested with it have asked how much it cost or how many FPS. My daughter owns a Parker Challenger in pink camo that ends up in my tree stand several times a year. Nice little compact youth bow that does wonders 30 feet up a tree.

I have an Excalibur Ibex, no longer available with the aluminum riser. Bought it used a couple of years ago. No problems with it. Have even accidentally dry fired in a few times, other than throwing a string, no ill effects. I love the recurve Vs the compound.

I have a Stryker solution that I really like but bowtech's customer service is known to be sketchy. If I was in the market for a new bow, and $ was no option, id look hard at the new ravin crossbows. Was checking them out at the local archery shop and they really are the most advanced and feature rich xbows on the market. That being said ten point also make some great bows

I have a Ten Point Titan Extreme and an Excal Matrix 330. Both are awesome bows, each having their respective high points. I favor the Excal because its simpler, lighter, and doesnt have to be fired to decock at the end of the hunt. It is louder than most compounds, but not bad with the bumpers. The TP feels good in the hand, and tricked out with the SDS and Bowjack silencing kits, is very quiet. I have had other deer stand and look after a shot. Extremely happy with both.

anybody shooting a scorpyd?? I was really trying to convince myself to buy one. I went to the local retailer and tried one out. Couldn't make myself notice anything special about it and the guy working at the archery desk thought the same. The real deal breaker was when I called the Scorpyd headquarters to ask a few questions. The guy was a total jacka@# and I never gave it another thought.

I talked with a guy @ the BassPro near me about them and he showed me the display that had been shot about 20 times and it was already showing wear on the string. Perhaps that was part "operator error" (I don't know), but I'd be a bit upset if I dropped $1,500 - $2,000 on a crossbow and have that happen.

I had one years before they did the videos but I thought these were pretty cool. Check out the 'no strings attached' one. No way someone is doing this with a compound unless they have a compatible bow press at home. www.excaliburcrossbow.com/destruction-challenge/

I have a buddy who has worked on crossbows for many years. He has worked on just about every crossbow you can imagine. He shoots an Excalibur because he says that is the one bow that hardly ever gets brought into his shop for repair. I have had my Excalibur for a few years and I couldn't be happier. It is extremely reliable and the fact that you don't have to shoot your bow off at the end of the hunt is priceless. Just think about it...every time you shoot a crossbow you are stressing the string and a string only has so many shots in it before it will fail. I would hate to be shortening the life of my string from just shooting a bolt into a target at the end of every hunt.

I just bought the new Ravin R9 last week. Don't have a single bad thing to say about it. When I was sighting it in I was able to shoot 1 inch groups at 5 yards and 3 inch groups at 100 yards. I'm not saying I will feel comfortable shooting an arrow at a deer 100 yards away but it is nice to have confidence at extended ranges

Man the bolts for that sucker aren't cheap. 75 for 6 of them or 109 for 6 of them.

I was able to find a Parker Tornado F4 that is a 2016 model unfired for over $250 off last years retail price. Just could not pass that deal up. Within 2 hours of setting up was able to hit one of those orange special bread stickers at 30 yards on either my 3rd or 4th shot after zeroing in at 20 yards. Pretty impressed so far.
