New one on me too... In the past a hand gun was a no-no for a youth ..Now its.. That says "a" legal firearm. If you look on the chart graph in the book where it shows bag limits, and weapon allowed per each season it shows handguns and muzzleloading handguns are not permitted during youth season. Once again, Indiana Hunting Regulations are as clear as mud. Yep... you're right.. In the chart it shows they STILL cant use a handgun of any sort. Those kind of changes always go through the administrative rules process and I had not seen it. Yep, the wording is as clear as mud...

I am guessing the youths mentor must also still have a hunting lic.....believe this has been addressed before !

Well, I really, really thought it would be too long for him but the Model 7 with the scope mounted as far back as I can actually works. The Deadshot really helps with the weight. He put a box through it yesterday evening and I plan on another box tonight and one tomorrow night....he keeps improving and I'll let him go after deer with it.
