Text for the Day -- Psalm 119:121-128 ---------- I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors. Guarantee your servant's well-being;l do not let the godless oppress me. My eyes fail from watching for your salvation, and for the fulfilment of your righteous promise. Deal with your servant according to your steadfast love, and teach me your statutes. I am your servant; give me understanding, so that I may know your decrees. It is time for the LORD to act, for your law has been broken. Truly I love your commandments more than gold, more than fine gold. Truly I direct my steps by all your precepts; I hate every false way.
Devotional ---------- Listen to the verse that says, "I am your servant; give me understanding so that I may know your decrees." The psalmist describes a servant posture as the means of gaining understanding. It is hard to admit both that I need to be taught and that I can do that best from a servant posture. My pride does not like that. If my task in life is to solve my own problems and find right answers through clever debate and discussion with others, then I will resist the servant posture. However, if God is in charge, then my task becomes one of discovery, listening to discern God's way. What is God's purpose? Where is God leading my life today? These are the questions of the servant posture.
Prayer Teach me to bend my spirit and seek your way for my life, gracious Lord. Amen

This is good Woody!
David was told that this would come upon him from his own house. No sure, but this could be when Saul was after him. Regardless, it looks like bad on a good man, but there was a reason and purpose for it.
